Abstract

Identitas visual berpengaruh besar pada sebuah brand karena menggambarkan citra brand tersebut. Pada makalah ini, penulis melakukan identifikasi masalah identitas visual pada logo Taman Santap Pondok Indah, sebuah rumah makan khas Sunda dengan keunikan Sumatera di Lampung Selatan, Natar. Permasalahan identitas visual Taman Santap Pondok Indah ada pada logo yang tidak merepresentasikan budaya Sunda-Sumatera dan adanya target pasar baru yang dituju. Penulisan makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan desain dan mengatasinya dengan merancang ulang identitas visual rumah makan tersebut. Perancangan identitas visual mengacu pada lima tahapan metodologi desain Alina Wheeler yaitu conduct research, clarify strategy, design identity, create touchpoints, dan manage assets. Tahapan awal dimulai dengan melakukan studi pustaka, observasi, dan wawancara untuk mendapatkan data yang objektif terkait identitas visual eksisting, dilanjutkan ke pembuatan visual, dan implementasi visual. Penulis melakukan pembahasan permasalahan identitas berdasarkan hasil pengumpulan data dan studi banding. Tujuannya agar penjabaran bersifat sistematis dan mudah dimengerti oleh para pembaca. / Visual identity plays a big part in a brand because it describes the image of the brand. In this paper, the author provides identification of visual identity problems in the logo of Taman Santap Pondok Indah, a Sundanese restaurant with Sumatran uniqueness in South Lampung, Natar. The problem with the visual identity of Taman Santap Pondok Indah is in the logo which does not represent Sundanese-Sumatra culture and the existence of a new target market. This paper aims to identify design problems and solve them by redesigning the visual identity of the restaurant. The design of a visual identity refers to the five stages of Alina Wheeler's design methodology: conducting research, clarify strategies, designing identities, creating touchpoints, and managing assets. The initial stage begins with conducting literature studies, observations, and interviews to obtain data whose purpose is related to the existing visual identity, followed by visual creation and visual implementation. The author conducts a discussion of identity issues based on the results of data collection and comparative studies. The goal is that the description is systematic and easily understood by the reader.
