Abstract

Dalam merancang sebuah bangunan, pemilihan material menjadi pertimbangan penting bagi seorang desainer. Penggunaan material tertentu dapat menghasilkan sampah berupa limbah produksi pembangunan yang dapat berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, sebisa mungkin material yang digunakan merupakan material yang ramah lingkungan dan limbahnya dapat diolah kembali, sehingga menjadi Zero Waste. Pada penelitian ini, studi kasus yang diangkat adalah SDN 83 Kemang Manis dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui apakah material yang digunakan pada perancangan SDN 83 Kemang Manis termasuk material yang ramah lingkungan dan memenuhi lima prinsip Zero Waste. Dalam hal ini, penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus instrumental berdasarkan dua parameter, yaitu kriteria material ramah lingkungan oleh Ross Spiegel dan Dru Meadows, serta lima prinsip Zero Waste oleh Bea Johnson. Hasil penelitian penggunaan material pada perancangan SDN 83 Kemang Manis yang dianalisis akan menunjukkan tercapai atau tidaknya lima prinsip Zero Waste, serta apakah material yang digunakan pada perancangan SDN 83 Kemang Manis termasuk material yang ramah lingkungan. Adapun juga, hasil penelitian akan memberikan rekomendasi penggunaan material yang lebih ramah lingkungan, serta memperlihatkan relasi antara lima prinsip Zero Waste oleh Bea Johnson. / In designing a construction building, material selection is an important consideration for a designer. The use of certain materials could lead to development of construction production waste, which might have a negative impact to the environment. Therefore, the materials used are as Eco-Friendly as possible and the waste could be reprocessed, thus it becomes Zero Waste. In this study, the case study was SDN 83 Kemang Manis with the aim to find out whether the materials used in the design of SDN 83 Kemang Manis were Eco-Friendly Materials and fulfill the Five Principles of Zero Waste. In this case, the study was conducted using the instrumental case study method based on two parameters, namely The Eco-Friendly Materials Criteria by Ross Spiegel and Dru Meadows, and The Five Principles of Zero Waste by Bea Johnson. The results of this study will show whether the Five Principles of Zero Waste have been met, as well as whether the materials used in the design of SDN 83 Kemang Manis are eco-friendly materials. Furthermore, the study results will provide recommendations for the use of materials that are more Eco-Friendly, as well as show the relationship between Bea Johnson's Five Zero Waste Principles.
