Abstract

Batavia Kota Tua merupakan bagian dari kawasan Kota Tua Jakarta yang telah direvitalisasi dengan visi baru, yaitu menghidupkan kembali menjadi kawasan yang dinamis, ramah pedestrian, dan low emission zone namun tetap menonjolkan sisi historis. Akan tetapi, Batavia Kota Tua belum memiliki sistem wayfinding yang memadai untuk mengkomunikasikan visinya. Tulisan ini membahas perancangan sistem wayfinding di Batavia Kota Tua dengan pendekatan kualitatif disertai pengumpulan data dan studi literatur. Kajian literatur menggunakan Calori & Vanden-Eynden serta metode signage pyramid. Tujuan dari tulisan ini adalah untuk pengguna memahami posisinya terhadap suatu kawasan dan memilih rute menuju destinasi yang diinginkan. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan perancangan ulang sistem wayfinding dengan mengusung konsep seni Neoklasik untuk tetap mempertahankan kesejarahan Batavia Kota Tua. Bentuk Doric sebagai fitur signifikan pada gaya seni tersebut disederhanakan dan dikembangkan berdasarkan fungsi dan tipe sebagai solusi permasalahan desain yang ada. / Batavia Kota Tua is a part of the Jakarta Old Town area that has been revitalized with a new vision, towards a dynamic, pedestrian-friendly, and low-emission zone area which still focusing on it’s historical side. However, Batavia Kota Tua does not have a proper wayfinding system to visualize its vision. This paper discuss the wayfinding system in Batavia Kota Tua supported by using a qualitative approach accompanied by data collection and literature studies. The literature review based on Calori & Vanden-Eynden and signage pyramid methods. The purpose of this research is to aid user orient and navigate themselves in a physical space and to a desired destination. The redesign of wayfinding system carries out the concept of Neoclassical to highlight the history of Batavia Kota Tua. As a significant feature of Neoclassic, the Doric order is simplified and developed based on functions and types as a solution to existing design problems.
