Abstract

Keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran merupakan hal penting dalam pendidikan. Siswa perlu aktif untuk mengembangkan potensi dan bakat atau talenta yang telah Tuhan anugerahkan kepada setiap mahkluk ciptaan-Nya secara bertanggung jawab. Hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti pada siswa kelas VII-4 di sekolah ABC Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur, menunjukkan bahwa keaktifan siswa dalam belajar masih kurang. Penelitian dengan menerapkan metode bermain peran (role play) adalah upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah metode bermain peran (role play) dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa dan bagaimana penerapan metode tersebut dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart. Penelitian dilaksanakan sejak tanggal 3 Agustus 2015 hingga 13 November 2015. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 28 siswa yang terdiri dari 17 siswa perempuan dan 11 siswa laki-laki. Instrumen-instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi lembar observasi check-list guru mentor dan peneliti, pedoman wawancara guru mentor dan teman sejawat, lembar umpan balik guru mentor, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan keaktifan siswa dengan menerapkan metode bermain peran (role play). Hal ini terlihat dari usaha siswa untuk bertanya, menjawab pertanyaan, meminta pendapat peneliti, berdiskusi di dalam kelompok dengan memberikan saran atau ide pribadi tentang konsep pembelajaran, dan melakukan instruksi guru. / Active students in the learning process is important in education. Students need to be active in order to develop the potential and talent or talents that God has bestowed upon every creature of His creation responsibly. The results of the observations made by researchers at the seventh grade students at school ABC Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, showed that there is a lack of student’s activeness in study. Research was done by applying the method of playing the role (role play) is the efforts made to resolve the issue. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the method of playing the role (role play) can enhance the activity of student learning and how the application of the method can improve students' learning activeness. In this study, researchers used a method of classroom action research (PTK) with a model Kemmis and McTaggart. The research was conducted on August 3, 2015 to 13 November 2015. The research subjects totaling 28 students consisting of 17 female students and 11 male students. The instruments used in this study include observation check-list sheet, mentor teacher and researcher, interview teachers mentor and colleague, mentor teacher feedback sheet, and a reflection journal researchers. The results showed that an increase in student activity by applying methods play a role (role play). This is evident from the efforts of students to ask questions, answer questions, ask the opinion of researchers, discussion in the group by giving advice or personal idea about the concept of learning, and perform the instructions well.
