Abstract

Di sekolah tidak hanya berlangsung proses pembelajaran, tetapi juga interaksi antara guru dan siswa, serta siswa dengan sesamanya. Siswa belajar untuk bekerja sama dan saling melayani. Berdasarkan observasi kelas dan wawancara dengan mentor, peneliti menemukan bahwa keterampilan kerja sama siswa kelas XI IPA sekolah swasta di Nias pada mata pelajaran Biologi sangat rendah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menerapkan metode Teams Games Tournamnets (TGT) untuk mengetahui apakah dan bagaimana metode ini dapat meningkatkan keterampilan kerja sama siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart dalam dua siklus. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 26 Agustus sampai 28 Oktober 2015 terhadap 25 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah lembar checklist mentor, lembar checklist peneliti, lembar observasi mentor, lembar wawancara mentor, dan lembar angket siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan kerja sama siswa kelas XI IPA SMA TOP pada mata pelajaran Biologi dengan pencapaian kriteria ketuntasan indikator menyampaikan pendapat dalam kelompok belajar 96%, indikator mengajukan pertanyaan dalam kelompok belajar 96%, indikator mendengarkan pendapat anggota kelompok belajar 96%, dan indikator saling membantu antar anggota kelompok untuk mencapai tujuan kelompok 76%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan kerja sama siswa kelas XI IPA SMA TOP pada mata pelajaran Biologi. / In school, not only is there a learning process but also there is an interaction between teacher and students and an interaction among students themselves. The students learn to work together and serve one another. Based on the class observation and interview with teacher mentor, the researcher found that the students‟ team work skills in grade XI IPA in one of private school at Nias is very low. In order to overcome the problem, the researcher applied Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) method to know whether this method can improve students‟ team work skills and how this method can improve students‟ team work skills. The research method used in this research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) Kemmis and Taggart‟s model, held in two cycles. The research was conducted on August 26th until October 28th, 2015 towards 25 students. Instruments used in this research were mentor„s checklist sheet, researcher‟s checklist sheet, mentor‟s observation sheet, mentor‟s interview sheet, and student‟s questionnaire sheet. The result showed an improvement in grade XI IPA students‟ team work skills at SMA TOP in Biology subject with the levels of achievement reached 96% of expressing an opinion in study group, 96% of asking questions, 96% of listening opinion, and 76% of helping each others to achieve group goals. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) method can improve grade XI IPA students‟ team work skills at SMA TOP in Biology subject.
