Abstract

Dewasa ini pemberitaan media massa mengenai lembaga Kepolisian Republik Indonesia semakin merusak citra institusi tersebut. Beberapa kasus malah gamak ditemukan di beberapa media online. Salah satu pemberitaan yang yang juga merusak citra kepolisian ialah kasus dugaan pelecehan yang menimpa istri Ferdy sambo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemberitaan tersebut yang dilaporkan oleh Tempo.co dan Detik.com. Kasus-kasus tersebut menarik perhatian publik karena melibatkan seorang tokoh publik dan memiliki sensitivitas yang tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode Analisis Wacana Kritis model Van Dijk (AWK) untuk menganalisis struktur teks, kognisi sosial, dan analisis sosial. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan data primer, yaitu wawancara dan dokumentaso. Wawancara dilakukan kepada para wartawan yang menulis berita dan peneliti ahli untuk menguji keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan dalam struktur makro, super struktur, dan struktur mikro dalam pemberitaan tersebut. Tempo.co cenderung bersikap netral, sedangkan Detik.com terlihat memiliki kecenderungan berpihak pada korban. Faktor ekonomi politik media dan konteks sosial memengaruhi pendekatan berita kedua media tersebut. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya kesadaran akan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemberitaan, perlunya keberagaman sumber berita, kekuatan media dalam membentuk opini publik, pentingnya literasi media, dan implikasi dalam pengembangan strategi komunikasi. Dengan memperhatikan hal-hal tersebut, dapat diharapkan tercipta media yang lebih berkualitas, masyarakat yang lebih kritis dalam mengonsumsi berita, dan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang peran media dalam membentuk opini publik. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang struktur teks, kognisi sosial, dan analisis sosial dalam pemberitaan dugaan pelecehan seksual terhadap istri Ferdy Sambo. / Recently, mass media coverage of the Indonesian National Police has increasingly tarnished the institution's image. Several cases have been found in various online media platforms. One news story that has also damaged the police's image is the alleged sexual harassment case involving Ferdy Sambo's wife. This study aims to analyze the reporting on this case as reported by Tempo.co and Detik.com. These cases have drawn public attention due to their involvement of a public figure and their high sensitivity. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach using Van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) model to analyze the textual structure, social cognition, and social analysis. Data collection was conducted through primary data, including interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with journalists who wrote the news and expert researchers to validate the data. The results of the study indicate differences in the macro structure, superstructure, and microstructure of the news reporting. Tempo.co tends to maintain a neutral stance, while Detik.com shows a tendency to support the victim. The factors of media's economic and political influence and social context affect the news approach of both media outlets. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of awareness regarding the factors influencing news reporting, the need for diverse news sources, the power of media in shaping public opinion, the importance of media literacy, and the implications for communication strategy development. By considering these aspects, it is expected to create higher-quality media, a more critical news-consuming public, and a better understanding of the role of media in shaping public opinion. The findings of this study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the textual structure, social cognition, and social analysis in the reporting of alleged sexual harassment against Ferdy Sambo's wife.
