Abstract

Setelah Peneliti menjalankan proses pembelajaran di kelas VIIB Sekolah Lentera Harapan Medan, diperoleh beberapa hal yang menunjukkan minimnya tanggapan siswa pada saat diajak untuk berinteraksi dengan lingkungan belajar dimana siswa hanya menjawab pertanyaan apabila ditanya, sifat individualistik yang sangat tinggi, serta kurangnya rasa ingin tahu serta ketertarikan terhadap pembelajaran. Akibatnya, siswa menjadi pasif selama mengikuti pembelajaran yang berlangsung. Maka dari itu peneliti menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa dalam kelas. Metode penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Adapun subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIB yang berjumlah 29 orang. Peneliti juga menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi, lembar angket, lembar umpan balik mentor (feedback), dan jurnal refleksi untuk proses pengumpulan data. Berdasarkan penerapan langkah-langkah NHT yang dilakukan, diperoleh penelitian ini dapat meningkatkan setiap indikator keaktifan siswa. Hal ini terbukti dengan adanya peningkatan persentase pencapaian indikator keaktifan belajar siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II. Persentase indikator I meningkat dari 42% menjadi 62%, indikator II meningkat dari persentase 27% menjadi 28%, indikator III meningkat dari 52% menjadi 79%, dan indikator IV meningkat dari 84% menjadi 95%. Dari hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa penerapan NHT dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa sesuai dengan tahapan penerapan NHT diantaranya numbering, question, heads together, dan sharing answers. Dalam proses penerapannya hal terpenting adalah guru mampu mengenal karakteristik dan kebutuhan siswa dalam belajar. / After the researcher did observation toward the learning process in VIIB class at Sekolah Lentera Harapan Medan, some problems occured such as less of activeness from students to interact in learning environment where student only answered when it asked, high individualistic, and less of curiosity and interest to learaning. The result was the passiveness of students during the learning in class. Therefore, researcher applied Numbered Heads Together (NHT) method in expectation of increasing student's activeness in class. Researcher used Classroom Action Research (PTK) which held in two cycles. The subject of the research was 29 students from VIIB class. The instruments used for data collecting were observation sheet, quitionaire sheet, mentor's feedback and reflection journal. Based on the NHT steps applied, the result obtained showed that indicators of student' activeness increased. It proved by the increasing of student's activeness development achievement from cycle I to cycle II. Indicator I increased from 42% to 62%, indicator II increased from 27% to 28%, indicator III increased from 52% to 79% and indicator IV increased from 84% to 95%. From the result obtained, it can be conclude that the implementation of Numbered Head Together (NHT) can increase student's activeness accroding to it stages which were numbering, question, heads together, dan sharing answers. In the process of applying, the important is teacher's ability in understanding student's characteristic and needs.
