Abstract

Latar Belakang : Leukorrhea/keputihan merupakan cairan yang berasal dari kelenjar yang berada di dalam vagina dan leher rahim, kelenjar tersebut memproduksi sedikit cairan secara fisiologis, namun juga bisa terjadi keputihan patologis. Salah satu faktor penyebab keputihan patologis adalah penggunaan pembalut. Pembalut yang beredar di pasaran, yaitu pembalut herbal dan non herbal. Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara penggunaan jenis pembalut herbal dan non herbal dengan kejadian keputihan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemilihan jenis pembalut herbal dan non herbal terhadap kejadian keputihan pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran UPH angkatan 2019. Metodologi Penelitian : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi potong lintang dengan komparasi antara mahasiswi yang memakai jenis pembalut herbal atau non herbal dan insidensi keputihan. Data akan dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner, lalu hasil akan dianalisa menggunakan software SPSS dengan metode uji Chi-Square. Hasil Penelitian : Terdapat 132 responden dalam penelitian ini, 97 responden (73.5%) diantaranya menggunakan pembalut non herbal, dan 35 responden (26.5%) diantaranya mengunakan pembalut herbal. Hasil penelitian mengenai kejadian leukorrhea, didapatkan 74 responden (56.1%) mengalami leukorrhea patologis, dan 58 responden (43.9) mengalami leukorrhea fisiologis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara pengunaan jenis pembalut herbal dan non herbal dengan kejadian keputihan (P value =0,000) dan nilai OR=0.112 (0.044-0.285). Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara penggunaan jenis pembalut herbal dan non herbal terhadap kejadian leukorrhea pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran UPH angkatan 2019. Responden yang menggunakan jenis pembalut herbal dapat mengurangi risiko 0.112 kali terhadap kejadian keputihan patologis. Kata Kunci : Leukorrhea, pembalut herbal, pembalut non herbal. /Background : Leucorrhoea is a fluid that comes from glands in the vagina and cervix, these glands produce a small amount of fluid physiologically, but vaginal discharge can also occur pathologically. One of the factors that cause pathological vaginal discharge is the use of pads. Sanitary pads revolving in the market are herbal and non-herbal sanitary pads. Previous studies have shown that there is a significant relationship between the use of herbal and non-herbal sanitary pads and the incidence of vaginal discharge. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of the use of herbal and non herbal sanitary pads and the occurrence of leucorrhea in medical students of Pelita Harapan University batch 2019. Methods : This study used a cross-sectional study design with comparisons between female students using herbal or non-herbal sanitary pads and the incidence of leukorrhea. Data will be collected through a questionnaire, and the results will be analyzed using SPSS software with the Chi-Square method. Results: There were 132 respondents in this study, 97 respondents (73.5%) of whom used non-herbal sanitary napkins, and 35 respondents (26.5%) of whom used herbal sanitary napkins. The results of the study regarding the incidence of leukorrhea, obtained 74 respondents (56.1%) had pathological leukorrhea, and 58 respondents (43.9) experienced physiological leukorrhea. The results of this study showed that there was a significant relationship between the use of herbal and non-herbal sanitary napkins and the incidence of leukorrhea (P value = 0.000) and OR = 0.112 (0.044-0.285). Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between the use of herbal and non-herbal sanitary pads and the incidence of leukorrhea in UPH Medical Faculty students class of 2019, and the reapondents who used herbal sanitary pads reduced their risk of pathological vaginal discharge by 0.112 times.
