Abstract

Indonesia merupakan sebuah negara yang terdiri dari pulau-pulau, setiap pulau atau daerah, terdapat penduduk yang memiliki beragam macan adat, budaya, dan kepercayaan. Hal-hal tersebut menjadi sebuah kekayaan budaya milik Indonesia. Pada era globalisasi kini, di mana negara-negara saling bersaing untuk menggapai kepentingannya masing-masing, melalui berbagai macam aspek seperti ekonomi, pertahanan dan sebagainya. Kekayaan budaya milik Indonesia bisa menjadi instrumen dalam bersaing pada era globalisasi ini. Melalui program Rumah Budaya Indonesia yang ditempatkan di Jepang, merupakan sebuah program untuk mempromosikan dan menunjukan kekayaan budaya milik Indonesia terhadap Jepang. Melalui Rumah Budaya Indonesia diharapkan dapat meningkatkan dan menciptakan citra positif dari warga Jepang terhadap Indonesia, kemudian secara tidak langsung untuk menanamkan keinginan warga Jepang agar berwisata ke Indonesia yang akan meningkatkan perekonomian Indonesia dan untuk mempererat hubungan baik antar Indonesia dengan Jepang. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan teori Liberalisme, konsep diplomasi publik, diplomasi budaya, diplomasi interaksi people to people, globalisasi budaya dan kepentingan nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dengan Atdikbud RI di Tokyo dan pengelola RBI agar data yang diperoleh lebih akurat kebenarannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan upaya-upaya Rumah Budaya Indonesia di Jepang sebagai penguatan diplomasi publik melalui budaya antara Indonesia dengan Jepang. Upaya tersebut merupakan sebuah gambaran pada implementasi Rumah Budaya Indonesia di Jepang periode 2017-2022./Indonesia, a nation comprised of numerous islands, holds within its diverse regions a rich tapestry of inhabitants with distinct traditions, customs, cultures, and beliefs. These elements collectively constitute Indonesia's cultural heritage. In the contemporary age of globalization, where nations fiercely compete to advance their respective interests across various domains like the economy and defense, Indonesia's cultural abundance can serve as a powerful tool for competing in this global arena. One initiative to showcase and promote Indonesia's cultural wealth to the world, particularly Japan, is the Rumah Budaya Indonesia program established in Japan. Rumah Budaya Indonesia program aims to exhibit and celebrate Indonesia's cultural to the Japan. Through this cultural exchange, it aspires to cultivate a positive image of Indonesia among the Japanese people and subsequently instill a desire in them to visit Indonesia, thereby stimulating the Indonesian economy and strengthening the bilateral ties between Indonesia and Japan. The theoretical framework employed in this analysis incorporates Liberalism, encompassing concepts of public diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, people-to-people interaction diplomacy, cultural globalization, and national interests. Utilizing a qualitative approach with descriptive and methods data collection through interviews with the Atdikbud RI in Tokyo and RBI managers so that the data obtained is more accurate, this research investigates the endeavors of the Indonesian Cultural House in Japan, specifically focusing on its role as a catalyst for strengthening public diplomacy through cultural engagement between Indonesia and Japan. The study offers insights into the implementation and impact of the Rumah Budaya Indonesia program during the 2017-2022 period.
