Abstract

Minat belajar sangat penting dimiliki siswa dalam pembelajaran dan tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai. Peneliti menemukan siswa kelas IIA sekolah Lentera Harapan Curug Tangerang kurang memiliki minat belajar dalam pembelajaran IPA yang ditandai dengan kurang tertarik, tidak perhatian, tidak konsentrasi dan terlibat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, peneliti menggunakan media visual untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media visual dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dan kriteria penggunaan media visual yang tepat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK – Class Action Research) model Kemmis dan Taggart yang berlangsung dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa-siswa kelas IIA sekolah Lentera Harapan Curug Tangerang dengan jumlah siswa 33 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, angket, lembar umpan balik, refleksi, dan dokumentasi. Peneliti menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dalam menganalisis data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, adanya peningkatan setiap indikator minat dari siklus 1 hingga siklus 3. Indikator perasaan senang dari 50% menjadi 75%, ketertarikan 50% menjadi 100%, perhatian 50% menjadi 75% dan partisipasi 62,5% menjadi 87,5%. Peneliti berkesimpulan bahwa penggunaan media visual dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa kelas IIA sekolah Lentera Harapan Curug Tangerang. Penggunaan media visual yang berwarna dengan ukuran yang tepat sesuai dengan jumlah siswa membuat siswa semakin tertarik, senang, berkonsentrasi dan partisipatif dalam mengikuti pembelajaran./ Learning interest will make students to be more attractive and concentrated in joining learning procces in classroom, until the material and learning objectives can be achieved. However, researcher found that the students of grade IIA in Lentera Harapan Curug School Tangerang are lack of good learning interest. Based on that problem, researcher used visual media to increase students‟ learning interest. This research also aimed to know the used of visual media to increase students‟ learning interest and criterias in using visual media. Method used in this research was class action research (CAR) of Kemmis and Taggart model that was implemented in three cycles. Subject in this research are students of grade IIA Lentera Harapan Curug school with quantity of 33 persons. Instruments used in this research were observation sheets, questionnaire, mentor feedback, self-reflection, and documentation. The researcher used qualitative desciptive technique to analize data. Based on this research, shown that all of the learning interest indicators from the first cycle till third cycle had been increase. Indicator of joy from 50% increase 75%, interest 50% increase 100%, attention 50% increase 75%, and participation 62,5% increase 87,5%. The researcher can conclude that using visual media can increase learning interest of students grade IIA Lentera Harapan Curug School Tangerang. Using colorful visual media with appropriate size according to students quantity will make students be more interest, joyful, concentrate, and participative in joining the learning procces.
