Abstract

Penggunaan internet dan teknologi sudah menjadi bagian gaya hidup masyarakat saat ini termasuk dengan game online sebagai salah satu sarana hiburan pilihan. Tetapi bermain game online secara berlebihan dapat menyebabkan adiksi, salah satu dampak buruk yang dapat terjadi adalah individu tidak bisa mengontrol terjadinya impulsive buying dalam game walaupun individu itu sendiri sedang terdesak secara ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh adiksi game online terhadap impulsive buying mahasiswa perantau di jabodetabek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional regresi menggunakan teknik sampling, non probability sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan GAS dan IBT. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa adiksi game online memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap impulsive buying mahasiswa perantau (r = .543, p = <.001) yang berarti jika adiksi game online mengalami kenaikan maka impulsive buying juga akan mengalami peningkatan./The use of the internet and technology has become part of the lifestyle of today's society, including online games as a means of entertainment of choice. But playing online games excessively can cause addiction, one of the bad effects that can occur is that individuals cannot control the occurrence of impulsive buying in games even though the individual himself is economically pressed. This study aims to determine the effect of online game addiction on impulsive buying of overseas students in Jabodetabek. This research is a regression correlational research using sampling techniques, non probability sampling. This research instrument uses GAS and IBT. The results in this study indicate that online game addiction has a significant effect on impulsive buying for overseas students (r = .543, p = <.001), which means that if online game addiction increases, impulsive buying will also increase.
