Abstract

As the youngest workforce today, Generation Z tends to demonstrate a distinct mindset and approach compared to previous generations. This is also found to occur in XYZ school, especially in the way of completing the work or responding to a context. This study aims to identify the style and work characteristics, influencing factors, how to deal with the challenges, and analyze the role of leaders in increasing the performance growth of Generation Z teachers. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. It involved ten respondents: six Generation Z teachers, two subject leaders, and two school leaders. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and document studies. The validity of the data in this study was ensured through triangulation. The findings reveal that Generation Z teachers possess traits such as technology integration, flexibility, performance orientation, weaker boundary-maintenance skills, less tough, and more vocal. Factors influencing the performance of Generation Z teachers are also present through the teacher's personality, the role of the community, interaction between generations, and experience. Efforts made by schools to help teacher performance come through mentoring programs, training, and providing various experiences. Establishing relationships and expressing appreciation also contribute to enhancing Generation Z teachers' performance. / Sebagai angkatan kerja termuda saat ini, ada pemahaman dan pola pikir generasi Z yang cenderung berbeda dengan generasi sebelumnya. Hal ini juga ditemui terjadi di sekolah XYZ, khususnya dalam cara menyelesaikan pekerjaan ataupun meresponi suatu situasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik dan gaya kerja, faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kinerja, cara menghadapi tantangan, serta menganalisis peran pimpinan dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan kinerja guru generasi Z. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian ini melibatkan sepuluh responden yang terdiri dari enam orang guru generasi Z, dua orang ketua rumpun, serta dua orang tim pimpinan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, hasil pengamatan (observasi), dan studi dokumen. Keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini diuji dengan triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik yang dimiliki oleh guru generasi Z adalah terintegrasi teknologi, fleksibel, berorientasi performa, kurang dapat menjaga batasan, kurang tangguh, dan vokal. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kinerja guru generasi Z juga hadir melalui kepribadian guru, peran komunitas, interaksi antargenerasi, serta pengalaman yang dimiliki. Upaya yang dilakukan sekolah untuk membantu kinerja guru hadir melalui program mentoring, pelatihan, serta memberikan pengalaman yang beragam. Hadirnya relasi dan pemberian apresiasi juga dapat menjadi upaya untuk meningatkan kinerja guru generasi Z.
