Abstract

Ambisi adalah energi yang di ekspresikan dalam perilaku aktif menuju suatu tujuan atau aspirasi, yang dilakukan dengan kegigihan dan perjuangan yang umum untuk mengejar kesuksesan, pencapaian, dan penyelesaian. Adanya perspektif masyarakat yang berbeda terkait ambisi laki-laki dan ambisi perempuan memunculkan stigma-stigma negatif yang merugikan perempuan. Sehingga film hadir sebagai salah satu sarana hiburan dan alat penyalur pesan untuk menggambarkan realitas sosial, dan merubah perspektif tersebut. Salah satu film yang menggambarkan ambisi perempuan adalah “Black Swan” (2010) dengan latar belakang karakter utama yang ingin meraih kesuksesannya dalam industri balet dalam pertunjukan berjudul “Swan Lake”. Film ini menyoroti perjuangan dan pengorbanan Nina Sayers dalam usahanya menampilkan peran utama, dengan tekanan dan rintangan yang dihadapinya untuk mencapai puncak kesuksesan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggambaran ambisi perempuan melalui tokoh Nina Sayers dalam film “Black Swan”. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode analisis semiotika menurut Christian Metz melalui adegan yang di kategorikan menggambarkan ambisi agresif, ambisi perfeksionis, dan ambisi berjuang Nina Sayers dalam film “Black Swan”. Film “Black Swan” memberikan gambaran yang kompleks tentang perempuan yang berusaha mencapai kesuksesan dalam industri balet yang kompetitif . Penggambaran ambisi perempuan yang kuat dan ketekunan untuk meraih kesuksesan dalam film ini memberikan sudut pandang yang jarang dieksplorasi dalam narasi film. Dengan karakter Nina Sayers yang perfeksionis tergambar paling kuat dalam film, film "Black Swan" memberikan contoh bahwa ambisi dan kerja keras tidak mengenal batas gender. Film ini menunjukkan bahwa perempuan juga dapat berusaha untuk mencapai kesuksesan dalam karirnya dan siap melakukan pengorbanan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, sebagaimana halnya dengan laki-laki. / Ambition is the energy expressed in active behavior toward a goal or aspiration, carried out with persistence and a common struggle to pursue success, achievement, and completion. The existence of different societal perspectives related to male ambitions and women's ambitions raises negative stigmas that harm women. Therefore, movie is present as a means of entertainment and a means of channeling messages to portray social reality, and change that perspective. One of the films that depicts women's ambitions is "Black Swan" (2010) with the background of the main character who wants to achieve success in the ballet industry in a performance called "Swan Lake". This movie highlights the struggles and sacrifices of Nina Sayers in her quest to cast the lead role, with the pressures and obstacles she faced to reach the pinnacle of success. The purpose of this study was to determine the delineation of women's ambitions through the character of Nina Sayers in the movie "Black Swan". This research uses a qualitative approach, with semiotic analysis methods according to Christian Metz through scenes that are categorized as depicting aggressive ambitions, perfectionist ambitions, and striving ambitions of Nina Sayers in the movie "Black Swan". The movie "Black Swan" gives a complex picture of women trying to achieve success in the competitive ballet industry. The portrayal of strong female ambition and perseverance to achieve success in this film provides a point of view rarely explored in the film's narrative.With the perfectionist character Nina Sayers portrayed most strongly in the movie, "Black Swan" exemplifies that ambition and hard work know no gender boundaries. The movie shows that women can also strive for success in their careers and are ready to make sacrifices to achieve those goals, just as men are.
