Abstract

LIV Golf League adalah sebuah penyelenggaraan turnamen golf profesional tingkat internasional yang hadir dengan sejumlah terobosan baru dan telah berhasil mendisrupsi golf di dunia. Mereka hadir dengan konsep turnamen golf yang bersifat sportstainment dengan menggabungkan unsur seni dan hiburan kedalam turnamen golf yang semula dianggap kaku. Hal tersebut ramai diberitakan seiring dengan pertumbuhan minat terhadap golf di tengah masyarakat yang juga meningkat. Latar belakang tersebut kemudian menjadi inspirasi untuk meneliti Konstruksi Identitas LIV Golf League melalui analisis framing dari teori Modigliani dan Gomson dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif untuk mengamati bagaimana LIV Golf League terkonstruksi melalui pemberitaan media OB Golf dalam periode tersebut. Kemudian dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa Media OB Golf mengkonstruksi identitas LIV Golf League sebagai suatu terobosan yang positif untuk pembaharuan golf , oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa suatu realitas yang disampaikan media tetap tidak terlepas peran dan kecenderungan individu dibalik berita dalam menonjolkan suatu sisi yang dominan. / LIV Golf League is an international professional golf tournament that comes with a number of new breakthroughs and has succeeded in disrupting golf in the world. They (the tournament) come with the concept of a golf tournament that is sportstainment by combining elements of art and entertainment into a golf tournament that was originally considered rigid. This is widely reported along with the growth of interest in golf in the community which is also increasing.This background then became the inspiration to examine the Identity Construction of the LIV Golf League through framing analysis of Modigliani and Gomson's theory using descriptive qualitative research methods to observe how the LIV Golf League was constructed through OB Golf media coverage in that period. Then from the results of the study, it was found that OB Golf Media constructed the identity of the LIV Golf League as a positive breakthrough for golf renewal and it can be concluded that a reality conveyed by the media remains inseparable from the role and tendency of individuals behind the news in highlighting a dominant side.
