Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis merupakan salah satu dari kemampuan matematika (mathematical proficiency) yang terhubung dengan kemampuan matematika lainnya. Kenyataannya, siswa kelas VIII di sebuah sekolah di Ambon belum dapat mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran matematisnya. Siswa sangat baik dalam soal-soal pemahaman (C1-C2), namun sulit dalam mengajukan dugaan, menarik kesimpulan, memeriksa kebenaran argumen, dan menemukan pola. Peneliti menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran Problem Posing dengan tujuan untuk membantu siswa mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran matematisnya dan mengetahui bagaimana penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran Problem Posing dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas VIII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. PTK ini terdiri dari dua siklus dan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 Oktober 2015 sampai dengan 06 November 2015. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, lembar angket, pedoman wawancara, lembar tes kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan jurnal refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, pendekatan pembelajaran Problem Posing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP KMF Ambon dengan hasil siklus I sebesar 36% dan siklus II sebesar 79% siswa yang memenuhi kriteria minimal “Baik” melalui penerapan langkah-langkah disertai perbaikan pelaksanaan pendekatan Problem Posing pada siklus I ke siklus II berupa memperbanyak kegiatan pembuatan soal dan memperbaiki mengelolaan waktu pembelajaran./ Mathematical reasoning is one of the mathematical proficiency that connect with other mathematical proficiency. The fact was students grade VIII in a school in Ambon, did not develop their mathematical reasoning. The students were good at problems of understanding level (C1-C2), but they are difficult in making conjectures, drawing conclusions, verifying an argument, and finding patterns. Researcher implemented Problem Posing learning approach with the aim of helping students to develop their mathematical reasoning ability and knowing how to implement Problem Posing learning approach in improving mathematical reasoning ability of grade VIII students. The research method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), Kemmis and Mc. Taggart models. This CAR consists of two cycles and held on October 21, 2015 until November 6, 2015. The instrument used in this research such as the observation sheet, questionnaire sheet, interview guidelines, the mathematical reasoning ability test sheet, and journal reflections. Based on the analysis, the Problem Posing learning approach has improved mathematical reasoning ability of grade VIII students SMPK MF Ambon with the results of the first cycle is 36% and the second cycle by 79% of students who meet the criteria (B) "Good".
