Abstract

Keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa merupakan komponen yang penting di dalam proses belajar mengajar. Tetapi, pada kenyataannya berdasarkan hasil observasi peneliti dalam pembelajaran Matematika, terlihat keaktifan siswa ketika belajar masih kurang sehingga hal ini juga berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada ranah kognitif. Sebagai tindakan untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka peneliti menerapkan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD (Student Team Achievement Division), untuk membantu meningkatkan keaktifan siswa di dalam kelas, sehingga mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam ranah kognitif. Selain itu peneliti juga ingin mengetahui tentang cara penerapan metode STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) dalam meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa pada ranah kognitif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) dengan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan, diperoleh adanya peningkatan keaktifan siswa dengan pencapaian kategori baik dan sangat baik pada setiap indikator dari variabel keaktifan. Sedangkan untuk peningkatan hasil belajar ranah kognitif terlihat dengan adanya peningkatan jumlah siswa yang telah lulus KKM (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum) pada siklus 1 hanya mencapai 38,24% siswa dan meningkat pada siklus 2 menjadi 82%, dan peningkatan rata-rata kelas yang meningkat dari siklus 1 yaitu 58,85 menjadi 81,71 pada siklus 2. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) merupakan metode yang tepat diterapkan untuk membantu meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa pada ranah kognitif./ v+180 pages: 1 pictures; 24 tables; 4 diagrams; 55 appendices) Student’s activeness and student’s learning result are important component in teaching and learning process. However, in fact based on observation result done by the researcher, found that students still lack of activeness during learning process and it impact to the student’s cognitive learning result. To solve that problem, the researcher implement cooperative learning method with type STAD (Student Team Achievement Division), to help increase student’s activeness in class and increase student’s cognitive learning result. Besides, the researcher also wanted to know how to implement STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) in increase student’s activeness and student’s cognitive learning result. The method that used in this research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with Kemmis and Mc Taggart model. From the research, it shows an increasing of student’s activeness with good and very good achievement in each indicator from activeness variable. Besides, for student’s cognitive learning result shows an increasing of students that passed the passing grade in cycle one only 38.24% students and increase in cycle two to 82%, and increasing of classroom average score from 58.85 in cycle one to 81.71 in cycle two. Therefore, it can be concluded that STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) is a right method to be implement to help increase student’s activeness and student’s cognitive learning result.
