Abstract

Laptops today have become a daily necessity for office and lecture activities. Laptops along with the times are developing rapidly, therefore, laptop manufacturers are competing to compete to create laptop options with various prices and different specifications. Choosing a laptop with a lack of knowledge and information is not an easy thing because of the different specifications and prices that vary and must be tailored to user needs, so it is very necessary for a method that can produce values in the form of rankings to facilitate decision making. Because of the existing problems, a research is needed for the calculation of the best laptop selection. The relevant methods for selecting the best laptop are the SMART and SAW methods, so they will be applied in this study because both methods are included in Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) which calculates various alternatives and different attributes. The results show that the SMART and SAW methods provide the same best ranking results with a suitability level for the SMART method of 99.63144089613% SAW and the SAW method of 99.65563945727%./ Laptop pada masa kini sudah menjadi kebutuhan sehari - hari untuk aktivitas perkantoran dan perkuliahan. Laptop seiring dengan perkembangan zaman berkembang dengan pesat, oleh sebab itu, produsen laptop berlomba - lomba untuk bersaing menciptakan pilihan laptop dengan berbagai harga dan spesifikasi yang berbeda. Pemilihan sebuah laptop dengan kurangnya pengetahuan dan informasi bukanlah suatu hal yang mudah karena spesifikasi yang berbeda - beda dan harga yang beragam serta harus disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pengguna, sehingga sangat diperlukan sebuah metode yang bisa menghasilkan nilai dalam bentuk ranking untuk memudahkan pengambilan keputusan. Oleh karena permasalahan yang ada, maka diperlukan suatu penelitian untuk kalkulasi permilihan laptop terbaik. Metode yang relevan untuk pemilihan laptop terbaik adalah metode SMART dan SAW, sehingga akan diterapkan dalam penelitian ini dikarenakan kedua metode tersebut termasuk dalam Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) yang mengkalkulasikan berbagai alternatif dan atribut yang berbeda. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode SMART dan SAW memberikan hasil perankingan terbaik yang sama dengan tingkat kesesuaian untuk metode SMART sebesar 99.63144089613 dan metode SAW sebesar 99.65563945727%.
