Abstract

Latar Belakang: Stroke merupakan salah satu penyakit darurat yang menjadi kontributor terhadap angka kematian dan angka disabilitas yang tinggi di dunia. Pemberian terapi yang cepat menjadi salah satu upaya untuk meminimalisir kerusakan yang dapat terjadi pada otak. Keterlambatan kedatangan pasien stroke di rumah sakit dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor sosial ekonomi, pengetahuan pasien akan gejala stroke, keparahan gejala stroke, dan ketersediaan transportasi. Penelitian mengenai pengaruh faktor sosial ekonomi terhadap keterlambatan pasien untuk datang ke rumah sakit memiliki hasil yang kontradiktif. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui pengaruh faktor sosial ekonomi antara lain tingkat pendidikan, status pekerjaan, tingkat pendapatan, dan status tinggal pasien yang dapat menyebabkan keterlambatan kedatangan pasien ke rumah sakit. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui faktor sosial ekonomi yang mempengaruhi keterlambatan kedatangan pasien stroke ke rumah sakit. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi analitik potong lintang dengan populasi sampel 87 pasien stroke di Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Lippo Village yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data akan diambil melalui wawancara pasien stroke lalu diuji menggunakan metode Chi-Square dan Fisher’s Exact. Hasil: Penelitian ini melibatkan 87 orang subjek dengan 46 orang memiliki tingkat pendidikan sedang (52,9%), 58 orang yang bekerja (66,7%), 32 orang memiliki tingkat pendapatan yang sangat tinggi (36,8%), dan 83 orang tinggal bersama orang lain (95,4%). Penelitian ini menemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan dan tingkat pendapatan terhadap keterlambatan kedatangan pasien stroke ke rumah sakit dengan nilai p sebesar 0,013 dan 0,019 secara berurutan. Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan dan tingkat pendapatan terhadap keterlambatan kedatangan pasien stroke ke rumah sakit. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara status pekerjaan dan status tinggal terhadap keterlambatan kedatangan pasien stroke ke rumah sakit. Kata Kunci: stroke, keterlambatan kedatangan pasien stroke, faktor sosial ekonomi / Background: Stroke is a leading emergency situation that contributes to a high number of mortality and disability around the world. Timely intervention is one of the effort done in order to minimize the damage to the brain. The delay in hospital arrival can be influenced by socioeconomic factors, the knowledge of stroke symptoms, the severity of the stroke symptoms, transportation availability. Studies done regarding socioeconomic factors have contradicting results. Therefore, this study is conducted to examine whether socioeconomic factors such as level of education, employment status, income and living status are associated with delay in hospital arrival in stroke patients. Aim: This study aims to know the socioeconomic factors that influence the delay in hospital arrival in stroke patients. Methods: This is a cross-sectional analytical study on 87 stroke patients in Siloam Hospitals Lippo Village chosen using the purposive sampling technique. Data are taken from medical records and interview then analysed statistically using Chi square and Fisher’s Exact method. Result: The study involved 87 subjects who consists of 46 people with moderate level of education (52,9%), 58 people in the working category (66,7%), 32 people with very high income (36,8%) and 83 people living with other people (95,4%). This study found a significant correlation between level of education and level of income towards delayed hospital arrival in stroke patients with p value of 0.013 and 0.019, respectively. Conclusion: This study found a significant correlation between level of education and level of income towards delayed hospital arrival in stroke patients. This study failed to find a significant correlation between employment status and living status towards delayed hospital arrival in stroke patients.
