Abstract

Antioksidan merupakan senyawa yang dapat mencegah reaksi oksidasi dengan mengikat radikal bebas dan molekul yang sangat reaktif untuk mencegah kerusakan sel dalam tubuh. Berbagai tanaman yang ada di Indonesia diketahui mengandung senyawa fenolik dan flavonoid yang memiliki kemampuan sebagai antioksidan. Salah satu tanaman yang tumbuh di Indonesia adalah daun kesambi (Schleichera oleosa (Lour.) Oken). Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan menguji aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak etanol 70% daun kesambi (Schleichera oleosa (Lour.) Oken) menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil) dan melakukan uji skrining untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit sekundernya. Proses ekstrasi pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode meserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70%. Dari hasil ekstrasi diperoleh nilai rendemen sebesar 8,828%. Golongan senyawa. yang terkandung dalam. daun kesambi diuji. dengan metode skrining. fitokimia alkaloid, flavonoid, fenol, tanin, terpenoid, steroid, saponin, aktivitas. antioksidant diuji dengan metode. DPPH untuk mengertahu nilai. IC50. Berdasarkan dari uji skrining fitokimia’ menunjukan bahwa pelarut’ etanol 70% mampu mengikat’ senyawa metabolit’ sekunder berupa flavonoid, alkaloid, fenol, saponin dan tanin. Hasil pada uji aktivitas’ antioksidan pada penelitian’ ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak’ etanol 70% daun kesambi’ (Schleichera oleosa (Lour.) Oken) memiliki’ aktivitas antioksidan yang’ kuat dengan nilai ‘IC50 48,044 µg/mL./Antioxidants are compounds that can prevent oxidation reactions by binding to free radicals and highly reactive molecules to prevent cell damage in the body. Various plants in Indonesia are known to contain phenolic and flavonoid compounds which have antioxidant abilities. One of the plants that grows in Indonesia is kesambi leaves (Schleichera oleosa (Lour.) Oken). This study was conducted with the aim of testing the antioxidant activity of 70% ethanol extract of kesambi (Schleichera oleosa (Lour.) Oken) leaves using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-pikrilhidrazil) method and conducting a screening test to determine the content of secondary metabolites. The extraction process in this study used the maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent. From the extraction results obtained a yield value of 8.828%. Compound class. contained within. cassava leaves tested. with the screening method. alkaloid phytochemicals, flavonoids, phenols, tannins, terpenoids, steroids, saponins, activity. Antioxidant tested by method. DPPH to find out the value. IC50. Based on the phytochemical screening test, it showed that 70% ethanol solvent was able to bind secondary metabolite compounds in the form of flavonoids, alkaloids, phenols, saponins and tannins. The results of the antioxidant activity test in this study showed that the 70% ethanol extract of kesambi leaves (Schleichera oleosa (Lour.) Oken) had strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 48.044 µg/mL.
