Abstract

Kesimpulan : Hasil penelitian menemukan adanya hubungan yang signifikan indeks massa hubungan tubuh dengan derajat keparahan insufisiensi vena kronik pada pasien di Rumah Sakit Siloam Lippo Village Gedung B. Kata Kunci : Insufisiensi vena kronik, indeks massa tubuh, obesitas / Background : Chronic venous disease, or chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), is a condition that occurs when the valves of the veins, especially the veins of the legs, do not function properly due to venous obstruction or regurgitation. Chronic venous insufficiency is often referred to as chronic venous disease, with clinical symptoms that are often complained of are varicose veins and are often not diagnosed accurately. Chronic venous insufficiency can occur due to several causes including congenital, primary, secondary, and idiopathic problems. Body mass index (BMI) is a calculation that functions to estimate the amount of fat in the body and categorize a person's degree of obesity. BMI classification can also determine a person's degree of obesity. Obesity is a risk factor that can develop chronic venous insufficiency. This occurs because obesity can result in increased volume and pressure in the veins due to a body mass index that is higher than normal. Purpose : This study was conducted to find and understand the relationship between body mass index and the severity of chronic venous insufficiency in patients at Siloam Lippo Village Hospital Building B. Methodology : This study used a cross-sectional study design that used unpaired categorical comparative analytic study types. Samples will be selected using consecutive sampling, with a target sample of 115 people who are chronic venous insufficiency patients at Siloam Hospitals Lippo Village Building B. Data were obtained from patient interviews during Duplex Ultrasound. After that, the data was processed using the chi-square analysis method. Results : This study showed that there was a significant relationship between body mass index and the severity of chronic venous insufficiency (p: <0.001, OR: 6.556, 95% CI: 2.681-16.028). Conclusion : The results of this study found a significant relationship between body mass index and the degree of severity of chronic venous insufficiency in patients at Siloam Hospitals Lippo Village Building B. Keywords : Chronic venous insufficiency, body mass index, obesity
