Abstract

Membaca dapat membuat seseorang memperoleh pemahaman dan pengetahuan yang baru. Salah satu kemampuan dalam kegiatan membaca, yaitu membaca pemahaman. Kemampuan membaca pemahaman adalah kemampuan seseorang dalam memahami isi serta maksud dari bacaan yang dibaca dan mampu mengolahnya secara kritis dengan mengombinasikannya dengan pengetahuan yang dimiliki sebelumnya. Akan tetapi, fakta menyatakan bahwa tidak semua orang memiliki kemampuan membaca pemahaman yang sama sehingga kemampuan tersebut perlu untuk dikembangkan dan ditingkatkan. Secara khusus bagi orang Kristen, kemampuan membaca pemahaman tersebut penting agar setiap umat-Nya dapat memahami Firman Tuhan yang dibaca dalam Alkitab. Salah satu metode yang dapat diterapkan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman, yaitu metode Resitasi. Metode Resitasi merupakan metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru sebagai cara menyajikan pembelajaran dengan pemberian tugas kepada siswa. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah penerapan dari metode Resitasi dan untuk mengetahui apakah metode tersebut dapat mengembangkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu kualitatif deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa metode Resitasi terbukti mampu mengembangkan dan bahkan meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa. Adapun langkah penerapan metode Resitasi, yaitu fase pemberian tugas, pelaksanaan tugas dan pertanggungjawaban tugas. Saran kepada peneliti berikutnya, yaitu dapat mencari data terkait faktor lain penyebab terjadinya variabel masalah. / Reading can make a person gain new understanding and knowledge. One of the abilities in reading activities, namely reading comprehension. Reading comprehension ability is a person's ability to understand the content and purpose of the reading material and be able to process it critically by combining it with prior knowledge. However, it is a fact that not everyone has the same reading comprehension skills, so these skills need to be developed and improved. Specifically for Christians, reading comprehension skills are important so that each of His people can understand the Word of God read in the Bible. One method that can be applied in developing reading comprehension skills is the Resitation method. The Resitation Method is a learning method applied by teachers as a way of presenting learning by giving assignments to students. Therefore, this study aims to describe the implementation steps of the Resitation method and to find out whether the method can develop students' reading comprehension skills. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of the research conducted, it is concluded that the Resitation method is proven to be able to develop and even improve students' comprehension skills. The steps of applying the Resitation method, namely the phase of giving tasks, carrying out tasks and task accountability. Suggestions to future researchers, namely being able to find data related to other factors causing the occurrence of problem variables.
