Abstract

Guru sebagai in loco parentis memiliki wewenang untuk mendidik dan mendisiplinkan siswa berdasarkan kasih sebagai upaya pembentukan karakter siswa yang semakin serupa dengan Kristus. Disiplin adalah suatu perilaku moral dalam bentuk ketaatan terhadap berbagai aturan yang berlaku. Disiplin memiliki tujuan untuk membentuk suasana belajar yang lebih baik dan membentuk kepribadian siswa yang taat pada tata tertib sehingga pembelajaran dapat berjalan dengan baik dan nyaman. Namun, pada PPL penulis menemukan 7 siswa dari 20 siswa (35%) menunjukkan ketidakdisiplinan di dalam kelas, contohnya berisik dan berjalan-jalan di dalam kelas ketika pembelajaran berlangsung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan apakah pemberian reward & consequence yang dilakukan guru dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di dalam kelas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil kajian penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian reward & consequence mampu meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di dalam kelas. Sebagai kesimpulan, pemberian reward & consequence dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di dalam kelas melalui langkah-langkah perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan evaluasi. Pemberian reward & consequence membuat siswa tidak berbicara satu sama lain dan tidak lagi berjalan-jalan di dalam kelas ketika guru menjelaskan atau pembelajaran berlangsung. Penulis menyarankan kepada para guru Kristen untuk menjalankan perannya dalam mendisiplin siswa salah satunya dengan mencoba menerapkan reward & consequence. / Teachers as in loco parentis have the authority to educate and discipline students based on love as an effort to build students' character that is to be more like Christ. Discipline is a behavior of moral obedience to various rules that are applied. Discipline has the aim to create a better learning atmosphere and shape students' personalities to obey the rules so that learning can run well and comfortably. However, in the PPL, the writer found 7 students out of 20 students (35%) showed indiscipline in the classroom, for example being noisy and walking around in the classroom while learning process was delivered. The purpose of this research is to describe whether the implementation of rewards & consequences by teachers can make students to be discipline in the classroom. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive method. The results of this research show that the implementation of reward & consequence are able to make students to be discipline in the classroom. In conclusion, the implementation of reward & consequence in shaping students’ discipline in the classroom through the steps of preparation, implementation, observation, and evaluation. The implementation of reward & consequence makes students not talk to each other and no longer walk around in the classroom when the teacher explains or during the learning process. The writer suggests Christian teachers to implement reward and consequence to carry out their role in disciplining students.
