Abstract

Numerasi merupakan kompetensi yang penting dimiliki peserta didik untuk memahami dan menerjemahkan informasi, serta mengambil solusi untuk suatu permasalahan. Kompetensi ini seharusnya dimiliki oleh peserta didik sejak mendapatkan pendidikan dasar, namun masih ditemukan beberapa peserta didik memiliki kompetensi numerasi yang rendah. Hal ini ditemukan pada peserta didik kelas X saat dilakukan observasi pada pembelajaran Fisika yang ditunjukkan pada ketidakmampuan peserta didik dalam menganalisis dan mengerjakan soal yang diberikan. Melihat hal tersebut, peneliti menawarkan solusi berupa penerapan strategi direct instruction untuk meningkatkan numerasi peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji efektivitas penerapan strategi direct instruction dalam meningkatkan numerasi peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan menjalankan perannya sebagai penuntun, guru Kristen membimbing peserta didik dalam pembelajaran dengan memberikan pembelajaran yang sistematis dan memberikan pelatihan terbimbing serta mengarahkan peserta didik pada kebenaran, dengan mengintegrasikan setiap topik pembelajaran dengan kebenaran Alkitabiah. Peserta didik akan diarahkan pada kebenaran yang sejati sesuai dengan kebenaran Alkitabiah. Hal ini karena guru Kristen meyakini bahwa Alkitab merupakan kebenaran yang absolut yang membawa peserta didik pada transformasi yang sejati di dalam Kristus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi direct instruction efektif dalam meningkatkan numerasi peserta didik pada pembelajaran Fisika. Peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk melihat faktor lain penyebab rendahnya numerasi seperti gaya belajar siswa dan motivasi belajar serta mengkaji lebih dalam solusi untuk permasalahan tersebut / Numeracy is an important competency for learners to understand and interpret information, as well as to find solutions to problems. This competency should be possessed by students since getting basic education, but it is still found that some students have low numeracy competence. This was found in class X students during observations of Physics learning which was shown in the inability of students to analyze and work on the problems given. Seeing this, researchers offer a solution in the form of applying direct instruction strategies to improve students' numeracy. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the application of direct instruction strategies in improving students' numeracy. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. By carrying out their role as guides, Christian teachers guide learners in learning by providing systematic learning and guided training and directing learners to the truth, by integrating each learning topic with Biblical truths. Learners will be directed to the real truth in accordance with Biblical truth. This is because Christian teachers believe that the Bible is the absolute truth that leads learners to true transformation in Christ. The results showed that the application of direct teaching strategies is effective in improving students' numeracy skills in learning Physics. Future researchers are advised to look at other factors that cause low student numeracy skills such as student learning styles and learning motivation and examine more deeply the solution to these problems.
