Abstract

Proses pembelajaran kimia dalam kelas menghadapi banyak sekali tantangan. Siswa sering bergumul untuk mempelajari konsep dalam kimia karena meninjau segala sesuatu dalam skala mikro. Ilmu kimia dalam lingkup pendidikan Kristen diharapkan hadir sebagai bagian yang mendukung tujuan dari pendidikan Kristen dalam membentuk kognitif siswa tetapi sering terjadi kesenjangan antara harapan dengan apa yang sebenarnya terjadi. Ketidakselarasan ini harus ditangani karena siswa akan kesulitan untuk mengikuti proses pembelajaran dengan topik yang lebih kompleks jika tidak memiliki pemahaman konsep yang baik. Hal ini membawa kepada tujuan dari penulisan, yaitu memaparkan upaya meningkatkan pemahaman konsep kimia siswa melalui metode inkuiri. Penulisan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif berdasarkan data portfolio PPL 2. Metode inkuiri yang menjadi solusi diharapkan dapat memperkecil celah antara harapan dan fakta sehingga murid bisa menikmati perjalanan dalam setiap kesempatan belajar kimia hingga akhirnya mereka bisa menikmati Allah melalui pengalaman mempelajari alam. Hasil dari penerapan metode inkuiri dalam kelas adalah terjadinya peningkatan pemahaman siswa yang terlihat dari kenaikan perolehan nilai. Berdasarkan penerapan metode ini, penulis menyarankan untuk mempertimbangkan berbagai aspek jika ingin menerapkannya seperti situasi, kondisi, kesiapan siswa dan kesiapan dari diri guru sendiri. / The process of learning chemistry in the classroom faces many challenges. Students often struggle to learn concepts in chemistry because it reviews everything on a micro scale. Chemistry in the scope of Christian education is expected to be present as a part that supports the goals of Christian education in shaping students' cognitive but there is often a gap between expectations and what actually happens. This misalignment must be addressed because students will find it difficult to follow the learning process with more complex topics if they do not have a good understanding of the concepts. This leads to the purpose of the writing, which is to describe efforts to improve students' understanding of chemical concepts through the inquiry method. The inquiry method as a solution is expected to minimize the gap between expectations and facts so that students can enjoy the journey in every opportunity to learn chemistry until finally they can enjoy God through the experience of studying nature. The result of the application of the inquiry method in the classroom is an increase in student understanding as seen from the increase in grades. Based on the application of this method, the author suggests considering various aspects if you want to apply it such as the situation, conditions, student readiness and the readiness of the teacher himself.
