Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis matematis sangat penting dikuasai siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan di abad 21. Namun, berdasarkan penelitian pada salah satu SMA Kristen di Tangerang menunjukkan siswa kelas X belum menguasainya dengan maksimal. Siswa tidak mampu mengidentifikasi masalah hingga memberikan argumen yang jelas dalam penyelesaian masalah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk menjawab masalah ini yaitu melalui penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBM) dalam pembelajaran matematika. PBM ditinjau efektif dalam membantu siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis matematis. Model ini menggunakan permasalahan kontekstual di awal pembelajaran untuk dianalisis dan diselesaikan siswa melalui diskusi kelompok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Setelah dilakukan penerapan PBM, didapatkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis matematis siswa mengalami perkembangan. Hal ini tampak pada hasil tes formatif yang dikerjakan siswa. Siswa mampu mengidentifikasi permasalahan, lalu mampu menganalisis keterkaitan antara informasi (pernyataan), pertanyaan, dan konsep matematika. Selanjutnya, siswa mampu menerapkan strategi yang tepat untuk menyelesaikan masalah hingga memberikan kesimpulan yang tepat. Dalam pendidikan Kristen, pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis matematis bukan hanya untuk mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan dunia tetapi lebih dalam, melatih siswa untuk mengambil keputusan dengan bijaksana melalui penerapannya.Saran dari peneliti, guru perlu memperhatikan setiap langkah dalam PBM, khususnya langkah ketiga yaitu membimbing pengalaman individual dan kelompok / Mathematical critical thinking skills are essential for students to master to face challenges in the 21st century. However, based on research at one of the Christian high schools in Tangerang, it shows that class X students have not mastered it optimally. Students are not able to identify problems to provide clear arguments in solving problems. Therefore, efforts are needed to answer this problem, that is through the application of problem-based learning models (PBL) in mathematics learning. PBL reviews are effective in helping students to develop mathematical critical thinking skills. This model uses contextual problems at the beginning of learning that students will analyse and solve through group discussions. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. After the application of PBL, it was found that students' mathematical critical thinking skills developed. This can be seen in the results of formative tests carried out by students. Students are able to identify problems, then are able to analyse the relationship between information (statements), questions, and mathematical concepts. Furthermore, students are able to apply the right strategies to solve problems to provide the right conclusions as well. In Christian education, the development of mathematical critical thinking skills is not only to prepare students for the challenges of the world but more than that, to train students to take wise decisions through their application. Suggestions from researchers, teachers need to know the initial diagnosis of students' mathematical knowledge to adjust the division of groups with the aim of effective discussion.
