Abstract

Mengintegrasikan pengembangan kemampuan literasi sains dalam pembelajaran kimia menjadi urgensi dalam menjawab tantangan pendidikan abad ke-21 saat ini. Data penelitian pada salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas kelas XI di Tangerang dengan 19 siswa menunjukkan kurangnya kemampuan literasi sains siswa dengan persentase 26,4 %. Pembelajaran belum mampu mewadahi pengembangan kemampuan literasi sains. Siswa belum mampu menjelaskan, menerapkan serta menghubungkan konsep dengan permasalahan. Model pembelajaran Problem-based Learning (PBL) terintegrasi STEM sebagai solusi dari permasalahan dengan tujuan penulisan, yaitu untuk memaparkan perkembangan kemampuan literasi sains siswa melalui desain model pembelajaran Problem-based Learning terintegrasi STEM pada topik laju reaksi melalui rancangan pematangan buah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif yang menunjukkan desain instruksional PBL terintegrasi STEM dengan menggunakan lima tahapan mendukung pengembangan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Penilaian setiap indikator kemampuan literasi sains dilihat melalui lembar kerja siswa menggunakan rubrik yang telah dirancang. Perolehan kemampuan literasi sains siswa secara rata-rata pada tiap indikator adalah 80% (KLS-1), 80,67% (KLS-2), dan 85,2% (KLS-3). Penerapan PBL terintegrasi STEM ini menjadi solusi bagi guru untuk menolong siswa dalam mengembangkan karunia dalam dirinya dan mengerjakan tanggungjawabnya yaitu mandat budaya. Berkaca dari hasil penelitian ini, penulis menyarankan untuk merancang pembagian waktu yang tepat untuk setiap tahapan, pembagian kelompok yang heterogen, dan memastikan setiap siswa terlibat aktif dalam berkolaborasi dalam penerapan model pembelajaran ini./ Integrating the development of scientific literacy skills in learning is an urgency in responding to the current challenges of 21st century education. Research data at one of the high schools in Tangerang shows a lack of students' scientific literacy abilities. The ongoing learning has not been able to accommodate the development of scientific literacy skills. It is known that students have not been able to explain and apply concepts, as well as connect concepts with problems. The STEM integrated Problem-based Learning (PBL) learning model as a solution to problems with the aim of writing, namely to explain the development of students' scientific literacy abilities through the design of a STEM integrated Problem-based Learning learning model on the topic of reaction rates through fruit ripening designs. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method which shows that STEM-integrated PBL instructional design can develop students' scientific literacy skills. The implementation of STEM integrated PBL uses five stages to support the development of students' scientific literacy skills. The assessment of each indicator of scientific literacy ability is seen through student worksheets using a rubric that has been designed. The average achievement of students' scientific literacy skills for each indicator is 80% (KLS-1), 80,67% (KLS-2), and 85,2% (KLS-3). The implementation of STEM integrated PBL is a solution for teachers to help students develop their inner gifts and carry out their responsibilities, namely cultural mandates. Reflecting on the results of this research, the author suggests designing appropriate time distribution for each stage, dividing heterogeneous groups, and ensuring that each student is actively involved in collaborating in implementing this learning model.
