Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia merupakan salah satu pembelajaran wajib dan erat kaitannya dengan kehidupan siswa sebagai warga negara Indonesia. Akan tetapi, meskipun sudah melekat dengan kehidupan siswa, pelajaran ini justru kurang diminati siswa. Minat adalah elemen penting dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar karena berpengaruh signifikan terhadap proses dan hasil belajar siswa. Permasalahan mengenai minat ini masih terjadi hingga saat ini. Fakta di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa siswa cenderung pasif, mengantuk, kurang fokus terhadap penjelasan guru dan kurang berpartisipasi dalam pembelajaran. Salah satu upaya untuk dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa adalah dengan menerapkan metode discovery learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode discovery learning untuk mengembangkan minat belajar siswa melalui metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode discovery learning mampu mengembangkan minat belajar siswa yang tercermin dalam peningkatan rasa senang, ketertarikan, partisipasi dan keterlibatan serta perhatian siswa selama pembelajaran. Melalui hal ini, diperlukan peran guru untuk menuntun siswa sebagai image of God yang telah dikaruniai minat, bakat dan potensi untuk dapat mengembangkannya sebagai wujud tanggung jawab kepada Allah. Saran yang diberikan kepada peneliti berikutnya, yaitu peneliti perlu memberikan stimulus berupa pertanyaan/permasalahan yang menarik agar siswa dapat memberikan respons penasaran terhadap stimulus yang telah diberikan dan mematuhi instruksi yang diberikan oleh guru. Selain itu, perlu dilakukan uji secara kuantitatif untuk mengukur perkembangan minat belajar siswa./ Indonesian is one of the mandatory lessons and is closely related to students' lives as Indonesian citizens. However, even though it is embedded in students' lives, this lesson is less popular with students. Interest is an important element in teaching and learning activities because it has a significant influence on student learning processes and outcomes. Problems regarding this interest still occur today. Facts in the field show that students tend to be passive, sleepy, less focused on the teacher's explanations and less likely to participate in learning. One effort to increase students' interest in learning is to apply the discovery learning method. This research aims to analyze the application of the discovery learning method to develop students' interest in learning through qualitative descriptive methods. The results of this research show that the application of the discovery learning method is able to develop students' interest in learning which is reflected in increased enjoyment, interest, participation and involvement as well as students' attention during learning. Through this, the teacher's role is needed to guide students as images of God who have been gifted with interests, talents and potential to be able to develop them as a form of responsibility to God. The advice given to future researchers is that researchers need to provide stimulus in the form of interesting questions/problems so that students can respond curiously to the stimulus that has been given and obey the instructions given by the teacher. Apart from that, it is necessary to carry out quantitative tests to measure the development of students' interest in learning.
