Abstract

Minat belajar menjadi faktor yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran. Namun, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat siswa pada pelajaran matematika masih rendah. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, metode discovery learning dinilai mampu menolong siswa untuk meningkatkan minat belajar. Oleh karenanya, tujuan penulisan ini ialah menjabarkan penerapan metode discovery learning dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada pembelajaran matematika kelas X yang dikaji menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan setelah diterapkan metode ini, dari rata-rata 51% menjadi 72%. Pelaksanaan setiap tahapan dalam metode discovery learning mampu meningkatkan minat belajar siswa yang ditandai dengan meningkatnya perhatian dan pikiran siswa selama proses belajar. Selain itu, membuat siswa terlibat dalam setiap aktivitas pembelajaran. Sebagaimana seharusnya, pendidikan Kristen adalah pendidikan yang holistis, yakni memerhatikan setiap aspek kehidupan siswa, termasuk minat belajar. Siswa yang memiliki minat belajar tinggi, akan melakukan setiap tugasnya dengan bertanggung jawab, termasuk dalam mengikuti proses belajar. Saran yang diberikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya dalam penerapan metode ini guru dapat memerhatikan waktu dalam menerapkan setiap tahapan agar pembelajaran berjalan efektif. Guru juga dapat mengombinasi metode discovery learning dengan metode pembelajaran lainnya untuk mencapai pembelajaran yang lebih efektif / Interest in learning becomes a very important factor in learning. However, the results showed that students' interest in mathematics lessons was still low. Related to this, the discovery learning method is considered able to help students to increase interest in learning. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to describe the application of the discovery learning method in increasing student learning interest in class X mathematics learning which is studied using descriptive qualitative research methods. The results showed that students' interest in learning increased after applying this method, from an average of 51% to 72%. The implementation of each stage in the discovery learning method is able to increase student interest in learning which is characterized by increased attention and thoughts of students during the learning process. In addition, it keeps students engaged in every learning activity. As it should be, Christian education is holistic education, which pays attention to every aspect of student life, including interest in learning. Students who have a high interest in learning, will do every task responsibly, including in following the learning process. Suggestions given for further research in the application of this method, teachers can pay attention to the time in applying each stage so that learning runs effectively. Teachers can also combine discovery learning methods with other learning methods to achieve more effective learning
