Abstract

Keaktifan belajar siswa menjadi sebuah kondisi yang harus ada pada diri siswa karena akan berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman pengetahuan yang didapatkan. Melalui pengetahuan yang didapatkan, maka akan mengarahkan siswa kepada tanggung jawab dalam melaksanakan mandat dari Tuhan. Namun, kondisi ini bertolak belakang dengan kondisi keaktifan belajar siswa yang ditemukan peneliti pada saat melaksanakan Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan. Hal ini ditandai dari respon siswa yang tidak interaktif, tidak memiliki inisiatif untuk bertanya, dan ketika ditanyakan tidak bisa menjawab pertanyaan. Menindaklanjuti permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menerapkan metode diskusi sebagai solusi untuk mendorong keaktifan belajar siswa. Tentu, penerapan metode diskusi tidak lepas dari peran guru sebagai penuntun dalam mengarahkan dan membimbing siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penerapan metode diskusi dalam mendorong keaktifan belajar siswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Setelah melakukan penerapan metode diskusi, disimpulkan bahwa metode diskusi dapat mendorong keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XII pada mata pelajaran Sejarah setelah menerapkan langkah-langkah metode diskusi. Terdorongnya keaktifan belajar siswa tidak lepas juga dari perbaikan yang dilakukan guru pada saat penerapan metode diskusi yaitu perubahan pengorganisasian jumlah anggota kelompok dan sistem penyampaian hasil diskusi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, peneliti memberikan saran kepada setiap pengajar untuk selalu berefleksi setelah melakukan pengajaran untuk perbaikan atau pengembangan di pembelajaran selanjutnya./Student learning activity is a condition that must exist in students because it will influence the understanding of the knowledge they gain. Through the knowledge gained, it will direct students to take responsibility in carrying out the mandate from God. However, this condition is in contrast to the condition of active student learning that researchers found when carrying out Field Experience Practices. This is indicated by student responses that are not interactive, do not have the initiative to ask questions, and when asked cannot answer questions. Following up on these problems, researchers applied the discussion method as a solution to encourage active student learning. Of course, the application of the discussion method cannot be separated from the teacher's role as a guide in directing and guiding students. This research aims to explain the application of the discussion method in encouraging active student learning. This research method is descriptive qualitative. After implementing the discussion method, it was concluded that the discussion method could encourage active learning in class XII students in the History subject after implementing the discussion method steps. The encouragement of students' active learning cannot be separated from the improvements made by teachers when implementing the discussion method, namely changes in the organization of the number of group members and the system for delivering discussion results. Based on this, researchers provide advice to each teacher to always reflect after teaching to improve or develop in subsequent learning.
