Abstract

The advancement of technology nowadays can be a helpful tool for teachers to engage students in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to know the advantages and disadvantages of using technology in improving critical thinking skills and the way digitally literate teachers can help students to improve their critical thinking skills. This research uses descriptive qualitative as the method. The results show that technology can be used as a powerful tool for the teachers to support their learning strategy on improving students’ 21st century skills, especially critical thinking abilities. It is crucial for teachers to have a teachable heart to adapt in this digital era. By being digitally literate, teacher can help students to discern the right and wrong thing based on God’s Word. The integration of technology can help teachers to provide a learning approach that can engage students to be critical. Hence, it is important for teachers in this era to be digitally literate to be able to use technology as their tool for learning and to gain critical thinking. It is recommended for future research to vary the learning approach more./ Kemajuan teknologi dapat membantu guru untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa di dalam proses belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keuntungan dan kerugian dari penggunaan teknologi dalam meningkatkan berpikir kritis dan cara guru yang melek digital dapat membantu siswa meningkatkan berpikir kritis mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknologi dapat digunakan sebagai alat yang mampu menunjang strategi mengajar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan abad 21 siswa, terutama berpikir kritis. Seorang guru Kristen tidak hanya mengajarkan materi pembelajaran, tetapi juga untuk mengintegrasikan kebenaran akan Allah di dalam pembelajaran. Maka dari itu, sangat penting untuk guru memiliki hati yang ingin belajar untuk beradaptasi di era digital. Guru yang melek teknologi dapat membantu murid untuk mengetahui yang benar dan salah menurut Firman Tuhan. Mengintegrasikan teknologi dapat membantu guru untuk menyediakan pembelajaran yang meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam berpikir kritis. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi guru untuk melek digital agar dapat menggunakan teknologi sebagai alat mengajar dan untuk meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya, disarankan untuk dapat memberikan pembelajaran yang lebih bervariasi agar dapat meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa.
