Abstract

Generasi sandwich adalah generasi yang harus merawat keluarga dan orang tuanya sendiri. Hadirnya peran ganda bagi generasi ini memicu banyak dampak yang dirasakan, mulai dari stres, anxiety dan penurunan kepuasan hidup. Budaya Asia dan Indonesia mengajarkan anak-anaknya untuk dapat berbakti kepada orang tua. Semua agama di Indonesia juga mengatakan bahwa mereka harus berbakti kepada orang tua. Tanggung jawab dan bakti kepada orang tua dapat memicu munculnya rasa bersalah bila tidak dilakukan dengan baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat peran dari filial responsibility, filial piety, dan guilt feeling terhadap kepuasan hidup generasi sandwich di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan uji regresi berganda. Data diperoleh dari 130 partisipan menggunakan alat ukur Dual Filial Piety Scale (DFPS), The Filial Responsibility Scale (TFRS), Guilt and Shame Experience Scale (GSES), dan Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa filial responsibility, filial piety, dan guilt feeling berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan hidup generasi sandwich di Indonesia. / The sandwich generation is a generation that has to take care of its own family and parents. The presence of dual roles for this generation triggers many impacts, ranging from stress, anxiety and decreased life satisfaction. Asian and Indonesian culture teaches children to be filial to their parents. All religions in Indonesia also say that their must be filial to their parents. Responsibility and devotion to parents can trigger feelings of guilt if it is not done well. The aim of this research is to examine the role of filial responsibility, filial piety and guilt feelings on the life satisfaction of the sandwich generation in Indonesia. This research is quantitative research that uses multiple regression tests. Data was obtained from 130 participants using the Dual Filial Piety Scale (DFPS), The Filial Responsibility Scale (TFRS), Guilt and Shame Experience Scale (GSES), and Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS). The results show that filial responsibility, filial piety and guilt feelings influence the life satisfaction of the sandwich generation in Indonesia.
