Abstract

Save the Children adalah organisasi internasional non-pemerintah yang bergerak di bidang perlindungan hak anak. Salah satu permasalahan hak anak yang masih dihadapi masyarakat global adalah pekerja anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis upaya dan pencapaian dari Save the Children dalam menangani pekerja anak di India tahun 2020-2022. Penelitian ini mengkaji upaya penanganan pekerja anak di negara yang mempunyai jumlah pekerja anak yang tinggi, yaitu India. Teori Hubungan Internasional yang relevan dengan penelitian ini adalah Teori Neoliberalisme, yang memandang bahwa peran sentral lembaga dan organisasi internasional dimana para aktor negara dan non-negara penting dalam mengatasi masalah pekerja anak demi menjunjung tinggi Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM). Maraknya kasus pekerja anak di India mendorong inisiatif aktor negara dan non-negara untuk melakukan upaya penanganan pekerja anak dengan menerapkan kolaborasi. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini meliputi upaya Save the Children dalam menangani isu pekerja anak di India dengan melaksanakan program-program yang dikolaborasikan bersama aktor negara dan aktor non- negara, yang dimana sebagian besar upayanya berupa perlindungan dan pendidikan. Melalui upaya tersebut, pencapaian Save the Children telah membuat perubahan yang cukup signifikan, dimana para pekerja anak tersebut mampu mendapatkan kembali haknya seperti terdaftar di dalam sekolah, melatih keterampilan, dan perlindungan yang lebih terjamin./ Save the Children is a non-governmental organization that focuses on child rights protection field. One of the child rights issues that is still prevalent in the global community is child labor. This research aims to understand and analyze the effort and achievement of Save the Children in tackling child labor in India in the year of 2020-2022. This research examines the effort of tackling child labor in the country that still have the highest number of child laborers, which is India. The relevant International Relations theory in this research is Neoliberalism Theory, which states that the role of central institution and international organizations where the state actor and non-state actor are important to eradicate the child labor issue to uphold human rights. The emerging case of child labor in India encourages the initiative of state actor and non-state actor to conduct efforts of tackling child labor by implementing collaboration. The methodology that is used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The conclusion of this research is the effort of Save the Children in tackling child labor in India by conducting the collaborative programs between state actor and non-state actor, which mostly of the efforts are about protection and education. By those efforts, the achievements of Save the Children make significant changes, where the child labors can get back their rights such as enrolled in school, training skills, and more guaranteed protection.
