Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran matematika siswa perlu diatasi karena akan berpengaruh kepada kemampuan siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika yang lebih kompleks bahkan hingga memengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini ditemukan oleh penulis saat observasi dan melakukan pengajaran pada Sekolah Kristen di Lampung. Hasil persentase kemampuan pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran matematika siswa rata-rata 25,1%. Persentase ini menyatakan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran matematika siswa masih termasuk kategori rendah. Metode PBL ditinjau dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran matematika siswa. Berdasarkan hal tersebut tujuan penulisan ini ialah untuk mendeskripsikan metode PBL dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah kualitatif deskriptif. Kesimpulan penulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatkan dari rata-rata 25,1% menjadi 85,2%. Peningkatan ini menjadikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran matematika siswa yang semula rendah menjadi sangat baik. Dalam Pendidikan Kristen, siswa diharapkan untuk memiliki pemahaman yang baik sebagai salah satu kemampuan yang diciptakan Allah untuk memahami Kebenaran Allah. Kebenaran Allah terdapat di Alkitab dan Alkitab merupakan kebenaran mutlak. Saran dari penulis untuk membuat perencaan yang lebih maksimal dan estimasi waktu yang baik sehingga metode ini dapat dilakukan dengan baik. / The low ability to understand concepts in students' mathematics learning needs to be overcome because it will affect students' ability to understand more complex mathematical concepts even to affect student learning outcomes. This was discovered by the author during observation and teaching at a Christian School in Lampung. The percentage of concept understanding ability in students' mathematics learning averaged 25,1%. This percentage states that the ability to understand concepts in students' mathematics learning is still in the low category. The PBL method reviewed can improve the understanding of concepts in student mathematics learning. Based on this, the purpose of this paper is to describe the PBL method in increasing understanding of concepts in mathematics learning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The conclusion of this writing shows that there is an increase in the average 25,1% to 85,2%. This improvement makes the ability to understand concepts in students' mathematics learning which was originally low to be very good. In Christian Education, students are expected to have a good understanding as one of the God-created abilities to understand God's Truth. The truth of God is found in the Bible and the Bible is absolute truth. Advice from the author to make maximum planning and time estimation well so that the PBL method can be carried out properly.
