Abstract

God created human beings, women and men, to grow and multiply and fill the earth. So many descendants have many differences too. All people have differences in terms of religion, race, culture, and language. Differences exist until now which requires all humans to be able to appreciate every difference that exists in the neighborhood and around the world. There are so many parties who feel superior and underestimate each other's culture. Thus, to overcome this, schools play an important role in building students' awareness of cultural differences. Multiculturalism has been provided in various forms in art and literature. Therefore, school also provides learning to support the multiculturalism and one of which is in multicultural literature texts. Through this qualitative-descriptive research, the purpose is to find out how multicultural literature play an important role in fostering cultural awareness, encouraging inclusivity and respect among students by celebrating differences and highlighting the complexities of various cultures. / Allah menciptakan manusia, wanita dan pria, berkembang dan bertambah banyak serta memenuhi bumi. Keturunan yang begitu banyak memiliki banyak perbedaan juga. Semua manusia memiliki perbedaan baik dalam segi agama, ras, budaya dan bahasa. Perbedaan ada hingga pada saat ini mengharuskan semua manusia mampu untuk menghargai setiap perbedaan yang ada di dalam lingkungan sekitar maupun di seluruh dunia. Banyak sekali pihak yang merasa superior dan meremehkan budaya satu sama lain. Maka untuk mengatasi hal ini, sekolah berperan penting dalam membangun kesadaran siswa terhadap perbedaan budaya. Multikultural telah disediakan dalam berbagai bentuk baik dalam seni dan sastra. Maka, sekolah pun menyediakan pembelajaran untuk mendukung multikultural dan salah satunya dalam teks sastra multikultural. Melalui penelitian deskriptifkualitatif ini, tujuannya adalah bagaimana literatur multikultural berperan penting dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran budaya, mendorong inklusivitas dan rasa hormat di kalangan siswa dengan merayakan perbedaan dan menyoroti kompleksitas berbagai budaya.
