Abstract

Pemahaman menjadi salah satu tolok ukur tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Namun, fakta di lapangan menunjukkan masih banyak siswa memiliki daya pemahaman yang rendah, yang ditandai dengan ketidakmampuan untuk mengungkapkan kembali, mengungkapkan pendapat, membedakan, dan membuat contoh terkait materi yang dipelajari. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran perlu disajikan dengan alternatif untuk menolong siswa menumbuhkan pemahamannya. Penulisan paper ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan langkah-langkah metode diskusi dalam upaya menumbuhkan pemahaman siswa dalam belajar bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan metode diskusi. Penulisan ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan instrumen penelitian berupa portfolio PPL 2 seperti RPP, umpan balik mentor, refleksi, dan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah penerapan metode diskusi telah dilakukan dengan konsisten dan teratur mengikuti langkah-langkah dan mampu menumbuhkan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Guru Kristen perlu meneladani Kristus dan berpusat kepada Kristus dalam pengajarannya sehingga dapat menolong siswa menumbuhkan pemahaman dan membawa siswa pada rekonsiliasi Allah. Adapun saran yang diberikan kiranya peneliti selanjutnya dapat merancang dan menerapkan metode ini seefektif mungkin dengan estimasi waktu yang sesuai serta melakukan observasi lebih lanjut setelah penerapan metode ini supaya dapat melihat kevalidan data-data atau keberhasilan yang diperoleh setelah penerapannya./Understanding is one of the benchmarks for the achievement of learning objectives. However, evidence from the field shows that many students still have low levels of comprehension, characterised by an inability to restate, to express opinions, to differentiate and to give examples related to the material being studied. This shows that learning needs to be presented with alternatives to help students develop their understanding. The aim of writing this paper is to explain the steps of the discussion method in an effort to promote students' understanding in learning Indonesian using the discussion method. This paper uses a qualitative descriptive research method with research instruments in the form of a PPL 2 portfolio such as lesson plans, mentor feedback, reflection and student learning outcomes. The findings are that the use of the discussion method has been carried out consistently and regularly following the steps and is able to promote students' understanding in learning Indonesian. Christian teachers need to imitate Christ and centre on Christ in their teaching so that they can help students grow in understanding and lead them to God's reconciliation. The suggestions given are that future researchers can design and apply this method as effectively as possible by estimating the appropriate time and making further observations after applying this method so that they can see the validity of the data or the success obtained after its application.
