Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis permainan gitar Guthrie Govan pada lagu "Wonderful Slippery Thing". Permainan gitar yang dianalisis adalah seputar teknik, dan motif. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil analisis dari penelitian ini menunjukkan beberapa jenis teknik permainan gitar dan teknik variasi motif. Teknik-teknik gitar yang digunakan yaitu teknik slap, teknik slide, teknik tapping, teknik alternate picking, dive bomb, vibrato, double stop, oktaf. Tekni variasi motif yang digunakan yaitu transposisi melodi, mengganti ritme dengan ketukan yang berbeda, mengganti urutan asli atau arah not interval.
