Abstract

Indonesia telah dikenal dunia dengan kekayaan budayanya, sayangnya antusiasme yang baik oleh generasi muda Indonesia masih kurang. Disisi lain, budaya populer Jepang memiliki andil besar dalam menggarap antusiasme terutama dalam bidang animasinya, salah satunya dengan kehadiran sosok idola virtual di tengah generasi muda Indonesia seperti Vocaloid. Salah satu lagu Vocaloid yang terkenal adalah lagu “Roku-chou Nen to Ichiya Monogatari” yang dinyanyikan oleh seorang idol virtual bernama AI. Keterkenalan Vocaloid di Indonesia dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai wadah dalam asimilasi budaya yang dapat dilakukan dengan membuat perancangan video klip “Roku-chou Nen to Ichiya Monogatari” yang dibuat dengan visualisasi mengenai isu sejarah budaya diskriminasi anak-anak Indo-Eropa pada masa kolonial Belanda karena adanya kemiripan dengan interpretasi lirik lagunya. Pembuatan video musik lagu tersebut menggunakan metode rotoscoping. Hasil dari perancangan ini adalah video klip berdurasi 2 menit yang bercerita tentang seorang keturunan Indo-Eropa yang dianggap sebagai orang buangan oleh masyarakatnya masing-masing. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat berhasil menyampaikan salah satu sejarah budaya Indonesia pada generasi muda./Indonesia is globally recognized for its cultural richness; however, the positive enthusiasm from the younger generation in Indonesia is still lacking. On the other hand, Japanese popular culture has played a significant role in cultivating enthusiasm, especially in the field of animation, with the presence of virtual idols among the Indonesian youth, such as Vocaloid. One of the well-known Vocaloid songs is "Roku-chou Nen to Ichiya Monogatari," sung by a virtual idol named AI. The popularity of Vocaloid in Indonesia can be utilized as a platform for cultural assimilation by creating a music video for "Roku-chou Nen to Ichiya Monogatari" that visualizes the historical issue of discrimination against Indo-European children during the Dutch colonial period, drawing parallels with the interpretation of the song's lyrics. The music video production for the song utilizes the rotoscoping method. The outcome of this design is a 2-minute music video that tells the story of an Indo-European descendant who is considered an outcast by their respective community. This design is expected to successfully convey a part of Indonesia's cultural history to the younger generation.
