Abstract

Saat ini perkembangan pada industri restoran dan rumah makan mulai bangkit setelah melewati COVID-19. Seluruh restoran maupun rumah makan bersaing agar dapat menguasai industri restoran khususnya pada restoran yang fokus pada kuliner Nusantara. Banyak cara yang dapat dilakukan para pelaku bisnis untuk bersaing, salah satunya adalah dengan membangun citra restoran melalui identitas visual yang baik dan kuat. Citra baik yang dicerminkan oleh sebuah restoran dapat meningkatkan keyakinan, loyalitas, serta membuat restoran mudah dikenal dan diingat. Warung Rawit merupakan sebuah restoran di Jakarta yang menyajikan makanan khas Singkawang, Kalimantan Barat yang dikenal dengan masakannya yang pedas dan kaya akan rasa. Tujuan dari penulisan makalah ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan dari identitas visual yang dimiliki oleh restoran Warung Rawit. Metodologis yang digunakan untuk perancangan proyek adalah tahapan dari metodologi Alina Wheeler yaitu conducting research, clarifying strategy, designing identity, creating touchpoints dan managing assets. Penulis memulai proyek ini dengan mengumpulkan data melalui observasi lapangan, studi pustaka, dan wawancara dengan manajer restoran. Lalu, menyusun hasil data yang didapatkan ke dalam creative brief untuk diidentifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil dari identifikasi, identitas visual Warung Rawit kurang mencerminkan kekhasan kota Singkawang dan sistem identitas visualnya kurang konsisten menurut koherensi identitas. Hasil identifikasi akan digunakan untuk melakukan perancangan ulang identitas visual Warung Rawit./ Currently, developments in restaurants and dining industry are starting to revive after passing the COVID-19. All restaurants and eating houses compete with each other in order to win, especially for restaurants that focus on Indonesian cuisine. There are many ways that we can do to compete, one of them is by building a restaurant image through a strong visual identity. The perfect image reflected by a restaurant is the one that can build trust, loyalty, and memorability. Warung Rawit is a restaurant in Jakarta that serves cuisines from Singkawang, West Kalimantan which is known for its spicy and flavorful dishes. The purpose of writing this paper is to identify problems from Warung Rawit’s visual identity. The methodology used for this project is from Alina Wheeler's five step design methodology. The author started this project by data collection through field observations, literature studies, and interviews with restaurant managers. Then, compiled the data obtained into a creative brief. Based on the identification, Warung Rawit's visual identity does not reflect the uniqueness of Singkawang city and its visual identity system is inconsistent according to identity coherence. The results of the identification will be used to redesign Warung Rawit's visual identity.
