Abstract

Gangguan yang memengaruhi kecerdasan seseorang atau bisa disebut dengan disleksia adalah sebuah gangguan dimana seseorang akan sulit untuk mengeja kata, membaca, dan bahkan menulis sehingga bagi sebagian orang yang belum memahami disabilitas ini akan memiliki stigma bahwa para penyandang gangguan ini yang sulit berkembang bahkan dianggap bodoh. Hal tersebut yang dikhawatirkan membuat para penyandang disleksia akan terus-terusan tidak percaya diri dan menutup potensi yang mereka miliki. Film fiksi pendek “the Value of Imperfection” kemudian dibuat dengan mengangkat isu disleksia melalui sudut pandang dari protagonis yang berperan sebagai seorang siswa yang menyandang disleksia. Penulis selaku sutradara film tentu melakukan riset dan penelitian dengan sumber-sumber yang kredibel agar dapat menyampaikan pesan dan kesan yang bermakna melalui alur cerita dan estetika visual. / A disorder that affects a person's intelligence which can be called dyslexia is a disorder where a person will find it difficult to spell words, read, and write so that for some people who do not understand this disability will have a stigma that people with this disorder who are difficult to develop are even considered stupid. This is feared to make people with dyslexia will continue to not be confident and close their potential. The short fiction film "the Value of Imperfection" was made with the intention to raise the issue of dyslexia through the point of view of the protagonist who plays a student who has dyslexia. The writer as a film director certainly conducts research and research with credible sources in order to convey meaningful messages and impressions through storylines and visual aesthetics.
