Abstract

Karakter adalah atribut yang sangat penting bagi manusia yang telah diciptakan serupa dengan Allah karena manusia merupakan gambar dan rupa Allah. Namun kejatuhan manusia kedalam dosa mengakibatkan kerusakan dalam gambar dan rupa Allah sehingga karakter Ilahi yang ada pada diri manusia menjadi rusak. Meskipun demikian, ada sebuah pengharapan bagi setiap siswa yaitu penebusan yang telah Kristus anugerahkan. Penebusan ini memberikan harapan bagi setiap orang untuk menjauhi dosa dan kembali semakin serupa dengan Kristus. Melalui pengharapan ini, pendidikan melalui guru berusaha untuk menolong siswa dalam menumbuhkan karakter Kristus di dalam dirinya. Dalam kondisi nyata di lingkungan sekolah masih banyak siswa yang tidak menunjukkan karakter Kristus di dalam dirinya seperti tidak bijaksana, tidak memiliki sopan santun, tidak bertanggung jawab serta tidak disiplin. Tujuan penulisan makalah ini adalah untuk menjelaskan peran guru Kristen dalam menumbuhkan karakter Kristus pada diri siswa dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kajian literatur dengan sumber yang terdiri dari buku dan jurnal. Berdasarkan kajian literatur yang dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran guru diperlukan dalam menumbuhkan karakter Kristus pada diri siswa dengan berperan sebagai penuntun dan pembimbing siswa dengan memberikan instruksi serta menegur dan menasehati siswa. Peran kedua yang dapat menolong pertumbuhan karakter siswa adalah sebagai teladan yang menunjukkan perilaku dan karakter yang sesuai dengan karakter Kristus melalui cara hidupnya. Namun guru tidak dapat menumbuhkannya dengan sendiri melainkan harus melalui pertolongan dari Roh Kudus serta guru harus terlebih dahulu menghidupi Karakter Kristus di dalam dirinya sendiri. / Character is a very important attribute for man who has been created in the likeness of God because man is the image and likeness of God. But man's fall into sin resulted in corruption in God's image and likeness so that man's divine character was corrupted. However, there is a hope for every student that is the redemption Christ has bestowed. This redemption gives hope for everyone to shun sin and return more and more like Christ. Through this hope, education through teachers seeks to help students cultivate the character of Christ in them. In real conditions in the school environment there are still many students who do not show the character of Christ in themselves such as not wise, lack of manners, irresponsibility and undiscipline. The purpose of writing this paper is to explain the role of Christian teachers in cultivating the character of Christ in students using research methods of literature review with sources consisting of books and journals. Based on the literature review carried out, it can be concluded that the role of the teacher is needed in cultivating the character of Christ in students by acting as a guide and guide for students by providing instructions and admonishing and advising students. The second role that can help a student's character growth is as an example who demonstrates behavior and character consistent with Christ's character through his way of life. But the teacher cannot grow it by himself, but must through the help of the Holy Spirit and the teacher must first live out the Character of Christ within himself.
