Abstract

Di era digital, portal berita online saat ini tentu sangat beragam dengan isi berita yang bervariasi pula. Salah satu topik atau berita yang disajikan oleh portal�portal berita online adalah berita travel atau wisata. Tetapi, konten berita perjalanan dianggap bukan bagian dari karya jurnalistik dan disebut sebagai dianggap jurnalisme abu-abu. Padahal travel journalism dan berita perjalanan berperan dalam memajukan aspek pariwisata dalam meningkatkan wisatawan serta penyediaan informasi pariwisata atau destinasi yang diperlukan oleh masyarakat. Maka dari itu penelitian ini akan membahas bagaimana penerapan kaidah jurnalistik oleh media diterapkan dalam produksi berita travel dan melihat apakah narasi-narasi miring terkait travel journalism. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus deskriptif pada media Kompas.com. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui wawancara yang dilakukan kepada Redaksi media Kompas dan pembaca Kompas. Observasi juga dilakukan pada laman website Kompas.com untuk melihat penerapan kaidah jurnalistik pada konten-konten berita travel. Hasil penelitian yang ditemukan adalah sejauh ini Kompas.com sudah sangat mengacu pada elemen-elemen kaidah jurnalistik serta kode etik jurnalistik dalam melakukan peliputan berita travel dan memberikan informasi yang bermanfaat serta keakuratan yang terjamin./ In the digital era, online news portals today are certainly very diverse with varied news content. One of the topics or news presented by online news portals is travel news. However, travel news content is not considered part of journalistic work and is referred to as gray journalism. Whereas travel journalism and travel news play a role in advancing tourism aspects in increasing tourists and providing tourism or destination information needed by the public. Therefore, this research will discuss how the application of journalistic rules by the media is applied in the production of travel news and see whether skewed narratives related to travel journalism. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study research method on Kompas.com media. The research data was collected through interviews conducted to the Editor of Kompas media and Kompas readers. Observation was also carried out on the Kompas.com website page to see the application of journalistic rules on travel news content. The results of the research found are that so far Kompas.com has strongly referred to the elements of journalistic rules and the journalistic code of ethics in covering travel news and providing useful information and guaranteed accuracy.
