Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana pengalaman pengguna aplikasi kencan online Bumble dalam melakukan proses awal menuju hubungan romantis di kalangan generasi Z. Dengan pertumbuhan pesat teknologi dan perubahan pola hubungan sosial, aplikasi kencan online telah menjadi sarana utama bagi individu muda untuk bertemu dan berinteraksi secara romantis. Fokus penelitian ini adalah pada aplikasi kencan Bumble, yang memiliki fitur unik seperti inisiatif wanita untuk memulai percakapan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Fenomenologi. Peneliti melakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap sejumlah pengguna Bumble dari generasi Z. Temuan penelitian menyoroti harapan, pengalaman, dan evaluasi pengguna terhadap peran aplikasi kencan dalam membentuk hubungan romantis. Hasilnya memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang bagaimana generasi Z memandang peran teknologi dalam kehidupan percintaan mereka, sejauh mana ekspektasi mereka terpenuhi, dan dampaknya terhadap dinamika hubungan mereka. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pemahaman kita tentang dinamika hubungan romantis dalam era digital, khususnya melibatkan generasi Z yang terbiasa dengan teknologi. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini dapat membantu perusahaan pengembang aplikasi kencan untuk meningkatkan fitur dan layanan mereka sesuai dengan harapan dan kebutuhan pengguna, serta mempromosikan pengalaman yang positif dalam membangun hubungan romantis melalui platform online. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pengguna Bumble dari Generasi Z menaruh perhatian khusus pada komunikasi terbuka dan jujur dalam membangun hubungan romantis. Mereka mengharapkan potensi pasangan untuk menyampaikan niat dan ekspektasi dengan transparan melalui profil dan pesan. Selain itu, konsep kesetaraan dalam inisiasi percakapan dan pengambilan keputusan dianggap penting. / This research aims to explore how users of the online dating application Bumble expect to build romantic relationships among generation Z. With the rapid growth of technology and changes in social relationship patterns, online dating applications have become the main means for young individuals to meet and interact romantically. The focus of this research is on the dating app Bumble, which has unique features such as women's initiative to start a conversation. This research uses a qualitative approach with the phenomenological method. Researchers conducted in-depth interviews with a number of Bumble users from generation Z. The research findings highlight users' expectations, experiences and evaluations of the role of dating applications in forming romantic relationships. The results provide deep insight into how generation Z views the role of technology in their love lives, the extent to which their expectations are met, and its impact on their relationship dynamics. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to our understanding of the dynamics of romantic relationships in the digital era, especially involving generation Z who are accustomed to technology. The practical implications of this research can help dating app development companies to improve their features and services according to user expectations and needs, as well as promote positive experiences in building romantic relationships through online platforms. The results show that Bumble users from Generation Z pay special attention to open and honest communication in building romantic relationships. They expect potential partners to convey intentions and expectations transparently through profiles and messages. In addition, the concept of equality in conversation initiation and decision making is considered important.
