Abstract

TikTok merupakan salah satu media sosial inovatif yang berpotensi untuk membangun personal branding dan berperan sebagai media penghasilan yang kepopulerannya telah menciptakan banyak influencer dan content creator. Salah satu pengguna TikTok yang menarik pehatian penulis adalah @windahgod1, dengan nama asli Brando Franco Windah yang merupakan seorang content creator Youtube dengan ID Windah Basudara yang meliput content mengenai game. Walaupun content-nya mengandung unsur trash talking yang dapat dianggap sebagai isu / masalah yang berdampak pada penurunan nilai moral dalam masyarakat, namun kenyataannya banyak audiens yang mendukung tindakan Windah dan memaknai content tersebut sebagai content hiburan yang unik dan menarik. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pemaknaan viewers Tiktok @windahgod1 terhadap makna Trash talking dalam content gaming Stumble Guys yang di upload Windah dengan judul “Gokil ada Colab MR BEAST dan Skin Ombak di Stumble Guys.”. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian pendekatan kualitatif yang berfokus pada pemaknaan viewers terhadap unsur Trash talking dalam content tersebut melalui pengumpulan data secara wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa conten – conten yang berisikan Trash talking dalam dunia game cenderung lebih diminati oleh para audience. Viewers jika di banding dengan Conten yang lebih bersifat positif seperti dalam permainan kompetitif, trash talking menjadi salah satu ekspresi yang dapat di terima dan hanya dijadikan sebagai bentuk hiburan dalam batas wajar tanpa adanya unsur penghinaan, rasisme hingga merendahkan orang. Hal tersebut dikarenakan trash talking dijadikan sebagai bentuk dari sebuah sifat ekspresi seseorang dalam menyampaikan sebuah isi pesan melalui conten yang di upload. / TikTok is one of the innovative social media platforms with the potential to build personal branding and serve as a source of income. Its popularity has created numerous influencers and content creators. One TikTok user that caught the writer's attention is @windahgod1, real name Brando Franco Windah, a YouTube content creator with the ID Windah Basudara, focusing on gaming content. Despite containing elements of trash talking that could be seen as an issue impacting societal moral values, the reality is that many audiences support Windah's actions and interpret the content as unique and entertaining. This research aims to understand and describe TikTok viewers' interpretation of the meaning of Trash Talking in @windahgod1's Stumble Guys gaming content titled "Gokil ada Colab MR BEAST dan Skin Ombak di Stumble Guys." It employs a qualitative research method focusing on viewers' interpretation of the Trash Talking elements in that content through data collection via interviews and observations. The research results indicate that contents containing Trash Talking in the gaming world tend to be more favored by audiences or viewers compared to content that is more positive, such as in competitive gaming. Trash talking becomes an accepted expression and is only regarded as a form of entertainment within reasonable limits, without elements of insult, racism, or demeaning behavior. This is because trash talking is considered a form of personal expression for delivering a message within the uploaded content.
