Abstract

New media saat ini ada di mana-mana dalam aspek kehidupan modern. Media sosial merupakan salah satu bentuk dari new media. Seseorang yang menggunakan media sosial dapat mengonsumsi dan berinteraksi dengan konten dalam berbagai bentuk. Media sosial populer yang saat ini digemari generasi Z yaitu tiktok. Platform tiktok yang menyediakan berbagai macam informasi dan hiburan ini digemari berkat algoritma dari for you page yang menyesuaikan kegemaran penonton. Namun, hal ini ternyata memberikan dampak buruk kepada penggunanya yaitu salah satunya adalah oversharing. Untuk itulah, diperlukan penelitian mengenai faktor-faktor yang mendorong oversharing pengguna media sosial tiktok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan cara wawancara semi terstruktur dan observasi partisipasi aktif. Serta mengumpulkan data dengan cara dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada generasi Z pengguna tiktok yang memiliki kecenderungan oversharing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa generasi z pengguna tiktok memiliki kencenderungan oversharing. Hal tersebut dapat di dorong oleh faktor bahwa kebutuhan akan atensi dari publik dan tidak ingin merasa ketertinggalan dengan tren yang sedang viral./New media is now everywhere in aspects of modern life. Social media is a form of new media. A person who uses social media can consume and interact with content in various forms. The popular social media are currently popular with Generation Z is TikTok. The TikTok platform, which provides various kinds of information and entertainment, is popular thanks to the FYP algorithm which adapts to the audience's preferences. However, this turns out to have a bad impact on users, one of which is oversharing. For this reason, research is needed regarding the factors that encourage oversharing by TikTok social media users .This research uses a qualitative approach with the phenomenological method. Research data collection was carried out using of semi-structured interviews and active participant observation. As well as collecting using means of documentation. Interviews were conducted with Generation Z TikTok users who have tend to overshare. The research results show that Generation Z TikTok users have tend to overshare. This can be driven by the need for tension from society and not wanting to feel left behind by trends that are currently viral.
