Abstract

Fitur-fitur yang ada dalam Media Sosial memungkinkan penyebaran informasi dengan cepat, menciptakan fenomena viralitas. Dalam konteks hukum, viralitas di media sosial memiliki kekuatan untuk memobilisasi opini publik dan memengaruhi perkembangan isu-isu krusial. Media sosial memiliki dampak signifikan dalam membentuk pandangan masyarakat terhadap isu-isu penting, terutama dalam ranah hukum. Penelitian ini untuk mengamati bagaimana pengaruh viralitas dalam Media Sosial terhadap upaya mencapai keadilan dalam konteks kasus Mario Dandy. Pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus Mario Dandy, dan viralitas yang muncul saat kasus tersebut terjadi. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan bentuk berstruktur, observasi non partisipatif, dan dokumentasi.Teori yang digunakan Spiral of Silence oleh Elisabeth Noelle Neumann. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kompleksitas pandangan masyarakat terhadap "No Viral No Justice". Kasus Mario Dandy memicu perdebatan tentang peran viralitas dalam penegakan hukum. Meskipun beberapa melihatnya sebagai pengawal keadilan, lainnya menekankan bahwa keadilan tidak hanya tergantung pada viralitas. Dan adanya pandangan masyarakat yang bervariasi, dengan sebagian melihat viralitas sebagai kebetulan dan bukan penentu utama keadilan kasus. / Features present in Social Media enable the rapid dissemination of information, creating the phenomenon of virality. In the legal context, virality on social media has the power to mobilize public opinion and influence the development of crucial issues. Social media has a significant impact on shaping public perceptions of important issues, especially in the legal domain. This research aims to observe how the influence of virality in social media contributes to efforts to achieve justice in the context of the Mario Dandy case. The research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study method on Mario Dandy and the virality that emerged when the case occurred. Data collection techniques include in-depth structured interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation. The theoretical framework used is the Spiral of Silence by Elisabeth Noelle Neumann. The research results reveal the complexity of public perspectives on "No Viral No Justice." The Mario Dandy case triggers debates about the role of virality in law enforcement. While some see it as a guardian of justice, others emphasize that justice does not solely depend on virality. There is a variety of public views, with some seeing virality as a coincidence and not the main determinant of justice in the case.
