Abstract

"Individu dengan gangguan pendengaran yaitu Tunarungu memiliki dampak pada cara komunikasi lisan yang terbatas yang menyebabkan mereka kesulitan dalam berinteraksi. Penelitian ini menggambarkan individu Tunarungu yang terjun di lingkungan kerja pada sektor Fashion store dan Coffee shop dengan bertugas di garis depan melayani Customer. Kedua sektor tersebut merupakan ruang publik yang banyak dikunjungi masyarakat, tentunya mereka memiliki pengalaman dan tantangan unik ketika berinteraksi dengan customer yang mayoritas masyarakat dengar Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi di mana data diperoleh melalui eksplorasi mendalam terhadap pengalaman hidup individu dengan wawancara pada beberapa pekerja Tunarungu. Pendekatan Symbolic interaction theory digunakan sebagai kerangka konseptual untuk memahami simbol-simbol yang menjadi kunci dalam interaksi Tunarungu di lingkungan kerja mereka. Keheningan menjadi sebuah dinamika berinteraksi yang membentuk ruang di mana simbol-simbol alternatif menggantikan peran bahasa lisan. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu mengungkap pengalaman Tunarungu di dunia kerja serta menganalisis bagaimana mereka membangun dinamika interaksi dan komunikasi, sehingga membentuk sudut pandang kaum Tunarungu. / Individuals with hearing loss, namely Deaf people, have limited oral communication which causes them difficulty in interacting. This research describes Deaf individuals who are immersed in the work environment in the Fashion store and Coffee shop sectors by serving on the front line serving customers. Both sectors are public spaces that are visited by many people, of course they have unique experiences and challenges when interacting with customers who are mostly hearing people. The method used in this research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach where data is obtained through in-depth exploration of individual life experiences by interviewing several Deaf workers. The Symbolic interaction theory approach is used as a conceptual framework to understand the symbols that are key in the interaction of Deaf people in their work environment. Silence becomes an interactional dynamic that forms a space where alternative symbols replace the role of spoken language. The purpose of this research is to reveal the experience of the Deaf in the world of work and analyze how they build the dynamics of interaction and communication, thus shaping the perspective of the Deaf"
