Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji ketidakamanan ekonomi dan komunitas yang dihadapi oleh imigran Meksiko serta mengevaluasi dampak dari pembangunan tembok perbatasan antara Amerika Serikat dan Meksiko. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif, metode penelitian deskriptif, teknik pengumpulan data sekunder, dan teknik analisis data naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembangunan tembok perbatasan memiliki konsekuensi bagi imigran Meksiko. Di satu sisi, pembangunan tersebut mengganggu perdagangan lintas batas dan peluang kerja, yang menyebabkan ketidakstabilan keuangan dan peningkatan pengangguran. Di sisi lain, pembangunan tembok perbatasan memperburuk ketidakamanan komunitas, berpotensi menyebabkan peningkatan kejahatan dan mempertegang hubungan antara Amerika Serikat dan Meksiko. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kebijakan imigrasi Trump memiliki implikasi sosial ekonomi yang signifikan bagi imigran Meksiko, yang juga mempengaruhi mata pencaharian dan kesejahteraan sosial mereka. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya mempertimbangkan keamanan manusia dalam memahami pola global dan membentuk hubungan internasional. / This study analyzes the social and economic impact of Trump's immigration policy, specifically focusing on the experiences of Mexican immigrants. The objective of the research is to examine the economic and community insecurities faced by Mexican immigrants and to assess the impacts of the US-Mexico border wall. The study utilizes a qualitative research approach, descriptive research method, secondary data collection technique, and narrative data analysis technique. The results indicate that the construction of the border wall has multifaceted consequences for Mexican immigrants. On one hand, it disrupts cross-border trade and employment opportunities, leading to financial instability and increased unemployment. On the other hand, it exacerbates community insecurities, potentially contributing to crime and strained relations between the US and Mexico. The research concludes that Trump's immigration policies have significant socio-economic implications for Mexican immigrants, affecting their livelihoods and social well-being. The findings highlight the importance of considering human security in understanding global patterns and shaping international relations.
