Abstract

Perkerasan jalan merupakan salah satu akses yang digunakan untuk transportasi kendaraan bagi para pengendara. namun untuk setiap konstruksi jalan yang menggunakan aspal dapat mengalami kerusakan dikarenakan adanya faktor aging. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadi kondisi aging pada aspal terdiri dari sinar UV, temperature suhu, oksigen, dan kelembapan. Maka dari itu pada penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai perbandingan pengaruh simulasi suhu tinggi dan paparan sinar UV terhadap sifat kimia dan reologi bitumen PEN 60/70 dan hasil ekstraksi aspal modifikasi polimer (PMA) dengan menggunakan melalui pengujian penetrasi, berat jenis, viskositas, Fourier Transformed Infrared (FTIR), dan Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR). Bitumen diberikan pengaruh UV dapat meningkatkan nilai kekakuan, tetapi dengan adanya PMA mampu mencegah terjadi perubahan kekakuan yang signifikan, hal tersebut terjadi dikarenakan dengan adanya PMA mampu membuat fraksi resin tidak mengalami pengurangan pada carbonyl index (CI) dan stabil pada sulfoxide index (SI), dimana fraksi resin memiliki peran penting dalam crude oil atau minyak jenuh, selain itu sinar UV 253.7 nm memiliki nilai energi spektrum UV paling tinggi dibanding dengan UV 365 nm, karena UV 253.7 nm merupakan UV C, sedangkan UV 365 nm merupakan UV A./ Pavement is one of the access used for vehicle transportation for motorists. but for any road construction that uses asphalt can be damaged due to the aging factor. Factors that cause aging conditions on asphalt consist of UV light, temperature, oxygen, and humidity. Therefore, this study will discuss the comparison of the effect of high temperature simulation and UV light exposure on the chemical and rheological properties of bitumen PEN 60/70 and the extraction results of polymer modified asphalt (PMA) using penetration test, specific gravity test, viscosity test, Fourier Transformed Infrared testing (FTIR), Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR). Bitumen under the influence of UV can increase the stiffness value, but the presence of PMA can prevent significant changes in stiffness, This happens because the presence of PMA is able to make the resin fraction not experience a reduction in the carbonyl index (CI) and stable at the sulfoxide index (SI), where the resin fraction has an important role in crude oil or saturated oil. Beside that UV 253.7 nm has more damaging properties compared to UV 365 nm, because UV 253.7 nm is UV C, while UV 365 nm is UV A
