Abstract

Kelapa sawit peranan penting dalam memajukan ekonomi Indonesia. Hal ini bisa diperhatikan dari pesatnya perkembangan bisnis komoditi kelapa sawit. Dalam bisnis kelapa sawit di Indonesia, Pulau Sumatera merupakan salah satu pulau penting yang memiliki kontribusi terbesar perkebunan kelapa sawit. Perkebunan kelapa sawit juga memiliki dampak pada perubahan iklim, baik melalui deforestasi maupun emisi yang dihasilkan dari produksi dan transportasi minyak sawit. Ada upaya yang sedang dilakukan oleh pemerintah, organisasi non�pemerintah, dan perusahaan-perusahaan untuk mendorong pengelolaan perkebunan kelapa sawit yang lebih berkelanjutan dan bertanggung jawab, serta memitigasi dampak negatifnya. Penelitian ini juga membahas dampak yang dilibatkan dalam perluasan kelapa sawit di Pulau Sumatera dengan climate action berkaitan dengan SDG’s nomor 13 dan 15, karena perkembangan perluasan kelapa sawit memang meningkatkan perekonomian Indonesia tetapi tidak dapat di pungkiri lagi bahwa yang dihasilkan dari perluasan area perkebunan kelapa sawit menyebabkan perubahan iklim serta akan berdampak pada pembangunan daerah berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan menggunakan data primer. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori liberalisme di ikuti dengan konsep organisasi internasional, aktor non-negara, dan ekonomi politik internasional. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berbagai kebijakan yang diambil oleh aktor non-negara dalam perluasan perkebunan kelapa sawit akan menyebabkan perubahan iklim dan kerusakan lingkungan./Palm oil plays an important role in advancing the Indonesian economy. This can be seen from the rapid development of the palm oil commodity business. In the palm oil business in Indonesia, Sumatra Island is one of the important islands which has the largest contribution to oil palm plantations. Palm oil plantations also have an impact on climate change, both through deforestation and emissions resulting from palm oil production and transportation. There are ongoing efforts by governments, non-governmental organizations and companies to encourage more sustainable and responsible management of oil palm plantations, and mitigate their negative impacts. This research also discusses the impacts involved in the expansion of oil palm on the island of Sumatra with climate action related to SDG's numbers 13 and 15, because the development of oil palm expansion has indeed improved the Indonesian economy but it cannot be denied that the results from the expansion of oil palm plantation areas have caused Climate change will also have an impact on sustainable regional development. This research is qualitative research with descriptive methods and uses primary data. This research uses the theory of liberalism followed by the concepts of international organizations, non-state actors, and international political economy. The results of this research are that various policies taken by non-state actors in expanding oil palm plantations will cause climate change and environmental damage.
