Abstract

Background: Long COVID-19 is a collection of COVID-19 symptoms that persist beyond 4 weeks until 12 weeks or more. Fatigue is considered as the most common symptom of long COVID-19 which can interfere with daily life’s activities, and negatively affect young adults which is considered as a productive age group. Young adults’ age group has been reported forhigh incidence of long COVID-19. Relationship between types and doses of vaccines in Indonesia and long COVID-19 is still unknown. Objective: This study aims to find the association between vaccination status from aspects of doses and types of COVID-19 vaccines and long COVID-19 in young adults. Methods: This study utilizes a cross-sectional study carried out on 303 participants with age categorizes as youth with a history of COVID-19 (+) in JABODETABEK. Data are collectedusing questionnaire, and will be processed and tabulated using Microsoft Excel 2019, and analyzed with SPSS V.21 software version. Results: 310 respondents experienced COVID-19 within 2022 – 2023. 303 respondents are included in this study with a median age of 20 years old. 300 respondents have received primary doses and 265 have received booster doses. Type of COVID-19 vaccines are categorized into mRNA, viral vector and inactive, with inactive vaccine as commonly used in primary doses, and mRNA is commonly used in booster doses. 220 respondents experienced long COVID-19, with fatigue as the most common symptom. p-value for COVID-19 vaccine doses and long COVID-19 is 0,18 for primary doses and 0,68 for booster doses. p- value for types of COVID-19 vaccines and long COVID-19 is 0,08 for first doses of COVID-19 vaccine types, 0,09 for second doses, and 0,10 for third doses Conclusion: Based on the results, there is no significant association of doses and type of COVID-19 vaccine with long COVID-19 with age group of youth in JABODETABEK.
